Who We Are
Since 1906, New Balance has empowered people through sport and craftsmanship to create positive change in communities around the world. We innovate fearlessly, guided by our core values and driven by the belief that conventions were meant to be challenged. We foster a culture in which every associate feels welcomed and respected, where leaders and creatives are inspired to shape the world of tomorrow by taking bold action today.
About the role
How consumers discover and shop products is changing quickly, and New Balance is shaping its approach as these channels evolve. As an Emerging Ecommerce Channels Co-op, you’ll join that journey, helping our North America ecommerce team learn, test ideas, and build better experiences across New Balance Reconsidered, social commerce, and agentic commerce. You’ll also gain exposure to how we operate Joe’s New Balance Outlet (JNBO) as a liquidation channel.
This role is for someone who enjoys both doing the work and figuring out what work needs to be done. Some projects will have a clear brief; others will begin with an open-ended question. You’ll have support from the team, but we’re looking for someone eager to investigate, form a point of view, and help move an idea forward.
What you’ll do
Research and evaluate emerging channels: Research consumer experiences, competitors, and new developments in recommerce, social commerce, and AI-powered shopping. Bring back useful observations and ideas for what New Balance could explore.
Help us Scale Reconsidered: Evaluate site and product performance, provide recommendations, while also monitoring other resale retailers for inspiration of how we can optimize the consumer experience.
Support our entry into social commerce: Assist with product readiness, storefront experience, promotional set-up, and performance analysis as our approach develops.
Explore agentic commerce: Investigate how AI-powered shopping experiences surface products and help the team assess opportunities to improve product information and discoverability.
Learn the role of liquidation channels: Gain exposure to JNBO and how its assortment, merchandising, promotions, and inventory decisions help New Balance move product responsibly.
Work across teams: Partner with colleagues in merchandising, marketing, technology, and operations to help initiatives progress.
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in business, analytics, ecommerce, or a related field.
- A proactive approach: You don’t wait for every step to be spelled out. When faced with an open-ended problem, you’re willing to dive in, ask good questions, find information, and propose a way forward.
- Curiosity about changing shopping behaviors and emerging digital channels.
- Comfort working with data and translating findings into practical recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Excel or similar tools; experience with ecommerce or analytics platforms is a plus.
- Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 - $25.00 Hourly (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)

We also proudly offer a slate of more nontraditional perks – opportunities like online learning and development courses, tuition reimbursement, $100 monthly student loan support and various mentorship programs – that encourage our associates to grow personally as they develop professionally.
You’ll also enjoy a yearly $1,000 lifestyle reimbursement, 4 weeks of vacations, 12 holidays and generous parental leave, because work-life balance is more than just a buzzword – it’s part of our culture.
Temporary associates are provided three options for medical insurance as well as dental and vision insurance and an associate discount.
