The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst is the finance partner of the Colombia Commercial and Marketing teams. The role owns the P&L from Invoice Sales to Net Sales (ITN) for Colombia and the Advertising & Promotion (A&P) investment for the entire Andean Cluster (Colombia and Peru). The position combines strong financial rigor with sound commercial judgment: it supports month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, budgeting and forecasting, product and customer profitability, gross-to-net investment evaluation and pricing strategy, helping the business decide where to invest to grow profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Sales to Net Sales (ITN), Colombia
- Own the ITN lines of the Colombia P&L (discounts, promotions, rebates, trade terms, returns and other allowances) across actuals, forecast and budget.
- Manage the annual budget (AOP) and monthly forecast for the ITN lines, gathering inputs from Sales and maintaining a clear understanding of assumptions, opportunities, risks and mitigation plans.
- Upload ITN P&L lines for forecast revisions on time, ensuring forecast accuracy with input from Sales.
- Deliver a timely and accurate monthly close for ITN, including program accruals and promotions.
- Support the accounting and reconciliation of customer trade programs, including volume and growth rebates, co-op advertising and other discounts and allowances.
- Manage the credit-memo process for customer deductions and work with the Shared Services team to research and clear open deductions.
- Analyze Net Sales variances vs. Prior Year, Budget and Latest Estimate by customer, channel, brand and category, identifying the key drivers (volume, price, mix and trade investment).
Advertising & Promotion (A&P), Andean Cluster
- Own A&P for Colombia and Peru across actuals, forecast and budget.
- Partner with Marketing leaders to build and track the A&P plan by brand, campaign and activation type.
- Analyze A&P spend vs. plan and its effectiveness (return on investment, share of sales), recommending reallocations to improve results.
- Manage A&P accruals and commitments with Marketing, in line with closing controls.
- Coordinate with the Peru FP&A Lead so the cluster view of A&P is consistent with the cluster P&L.
- Commercial Business Partnership and Profitability
- Act as the day-to-day finance contact for Sales, Marketing and Customer Marketing, providing sound financial analysis and counsel.
- Meet with Sales teams regularly to review performance vs. estimate, variance analysis, program accruals and promotions, and present the Quarterly Business Review deep dive of KPIs.
- Prepare product and customer profitability analyses, and help design consistent processes to track performance across categories and regions.
- Support pricing strategy and promotional decisions with financial scenarios showing the impact on Net Sales and Gross Margin.
- Review price exceptions for margin erosion and data accuracy.
- Maintain a clean SKU profitability base, ensuring accuracy in reporting and reconciliation with Hyperion.
- Evaluate gross-to-net investments before and after execution, measuring their return.
- Reporting and Consolidation Support
- Provide the ITN and A&P inputs for the full Colombia P&L consolidation, the Monthly Business Review and the closing flashes, in close coordination with the Senior FP&A Lead Colombia.
- Report results and performance to local and regional leadership teams.
- Develop models and reports for commercial and operational tracking, recommending improvement opportunities.
- Deliver ad-hoc analyses that are meaningful and impactful.
