About this role
As the Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for defining, governing and evolving nib's enterprise architecture so that technology, data, applications and business capabilities are aligned to strategic objectives, simplify the technology landscape and support sustainable growth. This includes developing and maintaining a rolling one to three year technology reference architecture and target state, starting with the target state that supports nib's 2030 ambition.
The role provides enterprise-wide architectural leadership, guiding technology investment decisions, portfolio planning, transformation initiatives and future-state roadmaps across business, information, application, integration, data, security and technology domains. Working closely with executive leaders, delivery teams and technology stakeholders, the Enterprise Architect establishes architecture standards, architecture decision records, roadmaps and governance practices that enable simplification, innovation, scalability and risk-managed delivery.
The Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in ensuring technology investments maximise business value, improve customer and employee experiences, support responsible use of emerging technologies, and enable nib's strategic priorities within appropriate risk, privacy, security and regulatory settings.
Reporting to the Group Head of Strategy, Architecture & Transformation, you will lead a team of domain, solution and security architects in the Strategy, Architecture & Transformation Office, part of nib's Technology & Transformation division.
In this role you will
Develop and maintain the technology reference architecture and target state, and the transition roadmaps that guide investment across the nib Group.
Run architecture governance forums and set the guardrails within which platform teams make technical decisions, including architecture checkpoints in delivery stage gates and validating supplier designs before nib commits to them.
Simplify the technology landscape by reducing duplication across policy administration, CRM, workflow, pricing, claims, portal and sales funnel platforms, and build reusable foundations such as identity, APIs, data products and agentic AI patterns.
Shape the Group technology strategy and enterprise roadmap, and provide architecture assessment of business cases, vendor evaluations and sourcing decisions, including mergers, acquisitions and divestments where required.
Set security architecture standards, lead infrastructure and cloud architecture, promote secure-by-design and privacy-by-design, and set the architecture guardrails for AI and agentic AI.
Partner with leaders across Digital Platforms & Experiences, Insurance Platforms, Enterprise Platforms, Cloud & Technology Services, Data & AI, Line 1 Technology Risk & Controls and the Transformation Office.
Build and lead a high-performing architecture practice, including recruitment, career pathways and communities of practice.
