This is more than just a job. It's a mission.

We are looking for a Lead Business Analyst to join our growing Business Analysis community, helping to deliver complex and mission-critical programmes across the Defence and National Security sectors.

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will be a trusted advisor to customers, delivery teams and Product Owners, helping organisations navigate complexity and achieve meaningful change. Working within agile delivery environments, you will lead requirements discovery, facilitate stakeholder collaboration and ensure the solutions we deliver align with strategic objectives and user needs.

This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on analysis with leadership responsibilities, influencing project direction, supporting delivery teams and contributing to the development of Business Analysis capability across Northrop Grumman UK.

Whether working with emerging technologies, complex transformation programmes or mission-focused software delivery teams, your ability to bring clarity, drive collaboration and shape successful outcomes will make a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Business Analyst, you will

  • Lead the elicitation, analysis and management of business and technical requirements across complex projects and programmes.
  • Work closely with customers, Product Owners and delivery teams to ensure solutions deliver measurable business value and user outcomes.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagements and collaborative planning activities to align priorities and support decision-making.
  • Apply systems thinking and analytical techniques to understand organisational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide leadership and quality assurance for Business Analysis activities, ensuring consistency and high standards across project outputs.
  • Support project strategy, delivery planning and capability development while contributing to the wider Northrop Grumman UK Business Analysis community.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have

  • Significant experience delivering Business Analysis within agile software delivery environments.
  • Strong experience gathering, documenting and managing business and technical requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to influence at multiple organisational levels.
  • Experience applying systems thinking and analytical techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Experience working with agile delivery tools such as Jira, GitLab and Confluence.
  • A track record of leading Business Analysis activities, mentoring colleagues or providing quality assurance across delivery teams.

Desirable experience includes

  • Experience within Defence, National Security or highly regulated environments.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, governance frameworks or industry standards.
  • Experience supporting Product Owners and contributing to project strategy and delivery planning.
  • Exposure to Business Change activities, including user adoption, benefits realisation and organisational readiness.
  • We know that skills and experience come in many forms. Even if you don't meet every requirement listed, we'd still love to hear from you if you're excited about the opportunity and believe you can make a positive contribution.
