Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab is an advanced R&D facility specializing in development of world leading automotive technologies. We are looking for a Research Engineer to support the research in Hyundai-NTU Corp Lab, specifically in the area of hardware design, assembly and control of versatile end effectors for manufacturing lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external research partners to design, develop, and automate end effectors for manufacturing systems
- Conduct technical investigations into design concepts and manipulation strategies for end effector applications
- Support prototype development, hardware assembly, and system integration
- Plan and carry out experimental testing on end effectors using real-world components
- Analyse test results and prepare technical reports and presentations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system performance and reliability
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant field
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- CAD design and mechanical system development
- Hardware assembly and prototyping
- Microcontroller or PLC programming
- Robotics and automation systems
- Basic programming or firmware development experience is advantageous
Other Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience
- Open to entry-level candidates
- Prior experience in robotics, automation, or hands-on hardware/firmware development is an advantage
