Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

The role

You will deliver product reviews that identify existing and emerging risks to customer outcomes, alongside the actions required to address them. You will assess both open and closed product propositions across the Standard Life brand, heritage books, and future business integrations, providing assurance that products continue to deliver good customer outcomes, represent fair value and minimise foreseeable harm.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Product Reviews, Fair Value Assessments, and Investment Outcome Reviews, ensuring reviews are appropriately scoped, risks are thoroughly evaluated through the analysis of a wide range of inputs, and findings are evidence-based, clear and actionable. Reviews must be delivered in line with agreed plans, regulatory requirements, Consumer Duty expectations, and internal risk appetites and standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong understanding of Life and Pensions products understanding and application of regulatory frameworks, product governance, market and regulatory developments
  • Experience of delivering product reviews, fair value assessments, and investment outcome reviews across a range of life and pensions products, identifying risks to customer outcomes and opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to draw meaningful conclusions on how product propositions drive customer outcomes and fair value
  • Be able to gather, analyse, and interpret information from multiple sources to develop evidence-based conclusions and recommendations that support informed decision-making
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business, working collaboratively to deliver reviews in line with agreed plans and timescales
  • We want to hire the whole version of you.
  • We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
  • If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
  • We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
