The Technology & Delivery team ensures the sustained health and maintenance of UniSuper’s core systems and platforms - to provide high availability, stability and performance. We remain committed to partner with business units to provide business driven scale and simplification, guidance and delivery of the Enterprise Portfolio and technologies required to enable business capabilities and support the execution of UniSuper’s Strategy.
Make an impact by shaping secure, reliable and scalable integration solutions that support better business and member outcomes.
The role
As Technical Lead - Integration, you will provide technical expertise across UniSuper’s Integration capability, shaping and overseeing integration solutions that are secure, reliable, scalable and operationally supportable. You’ll partner with technology and business stakeholders to deliver integration changes across project and BAU work. Furthermore, you will:
Shape integration solutions aligned with technical standards, security, business and non-functional requirements.
Set standards for integration engineering practices, reusable patterns and work processes across iPaaS, APIs, messaging and data movement.
Influence integration designs and delivery outcomes through partnership with project teams, architects, application teams and business stakeholders.
Advise developers, partners and external resources on integration development practices, coding standards, testing, debugging and deployment approaches.
Govern integration delivery through CI/CD, release practices, documentation and operational support processes.
Sponsor continuous improvement across integration technologies, practices and platform capabilities.
Act as the lead source of reliable technical expertise for the Integration team, project teams and wider technology stakeholders, providing clear, trusted guidance on complex integration problems.
Provide input to solution architecture and design, contributing to design reviews and helping shape fit-for-purpose, scalable and supportable integration solutions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, setting expectations, communicating risks, dependencies and trade-offs clearly, and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Work closely with project teams, developers, testers and BAU support, and coach and mentor team members to lift technical capability and share knowledge across the team.
Proactively identify security vulnerabilities, design gaps and operational risks across integration workloads and provide practical, well-reasoned recommendations and drive them through to resolution.
About you
You’re a recognised technical expert who brings strong judgement to complex integration challenges and enjoys influencing quality outcomes through expertise and collaboration. You combine deep cloud integration knowledge with strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder skills. In addition, you will bring:
Strong experience designing, developing, securing, testing, releasing and supporting modern cloud-based integration solutions.
Experience with Azure integration capabilities including Functions, Service Bus, API Management, Key Vault, Logic Apps, Kubernetes, storage, databases and monitoring services.
Strong understanding of API, messaging, event-driven, data movement and system-to-system integration patterns.
Advanced experience in technical design and strategy for complex applications and integration services.
Strong diagnostic, analytical, estimation, planning and dependency management capability.
5+ years’ experience in application development, application support or integration engineering using platforms and technologies such as Azure iPaaS, .NET, C#, SQL, APIs and messaging.
Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust, manage competing priorities and influence decisions without direct authority.
A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within a team and across multiple projects, and to guide and support others, including internal and external resources.
Credibility as a technical leader, able to act as the go-to person for reliable technical advice and to make sound decisions under pressure, including during incidents.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to architecture and design, balancing security, performance, cost, resilience and operational supportability.
A proactive, security-minded mindset, with the initiative to identify vulnerabilities, design gaps and improvement opportunities, and to present clear recommendations with options and risks.
