The role involves working with senior engineers, project teams, customers, OEMs and third-party vendors to deliver reliable and secure infrastructure for industrial automation and critical infrastructure projects
Key Responsibilities
Support the design and implementation of OT and TSI infrastructure, including industrial networks, Windows servers and workstations, virtualization platforms, compute, storage, backup, recovery, industrial firewalls and time-synchronization systems.
Configure and troubleshoot Layer-2 and Layer-3 networks, Ethernet switches, routers, VLANs, IP addressing, routing, firewalls, network segmentation, redundancy and communication interfaces.
Support VMware and Nutanix environments, including hypervisors, virtual machines, virtual networking, resource allocation, storage, backup, restoration and system health monitoring.
Install, configure and maintain Windows servers and workstations, including local users and groups, password policies, Windows Firewall, Microsoft Defender, audit logging, USB controls, application allowlisting, offline patching and removal of unnecessary services or software.
Support the integration of TSI and package systems, including CCTV, PAGA, Fire and Gas Systems, Access Control Systems, HVAC, BMS, telecom systems, package PLCs, SCADA systems, historians and reporting systems.
Collect and validate OEM and vendor requirements, including IP addresses, communication protocols, ports, firewall rules, user and service accounts, antivirus exclusions, backup requirements, software dependencies and licensing requirements.
Support OT cybersecurity activities, including asset inventory, network segmentation, system hardening, access control, malware protection, patch management, backup, recovery and security-event logging.
Prepare and maintain OT and TSI architecture diagrams, network diagrams, IP address schedules, communication matrices, firewall matrices, bills of materials, configuration documents, test procedures, hardening records and as-built documentation.
Participate in design reviews, interface meetings, FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, system upgrades, startup activities and troubleshooting support.
Troubleshoot networking, Windows, virtualization, storage, application-integration and TSI interface issues, document findings and escalate complex technical or cybersecurity risks to the senior or lead engineer
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in OT infrastructure, TSI infrastructure, networking, virtualization, Windows administration or industrial system integration.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, routing, switching, firewalls, network segmentation, Windows servers and workstations, VMware or Nutanix, storage, backup and recovery.
- Experience preparing technical documents, network diagrams, configuration records, communication matrices or test procedures.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical, documentation and communication skills, with the ability to complete assigned tasks with limited supervision and escalate issues appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial automation, OT, TSI or critical infrastructure projects, with an understanding of DCS, PLC, SCADA, historian, engineering workstation and operator workstation environments.
- Experience integrating OEM, third-party or package systems into industrial control environments.
- Familiarity with industrial network architecture, Windows security hardening, IEC 62443, NIST OT security guidance or similar cybersecurity practices.
- Experience supporting FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, system upgrades or site troubleshooting.
- Exposure to CCTV, PAGA, Fire and Gas, Access Control, HVAC, BMS, telecom or package PLC systems.
Preferred Certifications
Cisco CCNA, VMware or Nutanix certification, Microsoft infrastructure certification, OT cybersecurity certification or IEC 62443 foundation-level training are desirable but not mandatory.
We Value
Strong troubleshooting and analytical ability, attention to technical detail, quality documentation, awareness of OT safety and availability requirements, effective collaboration with project teams and vendors, ownership of assigned tasks, timely escalation of risks and willingness to learn new OT and infrastructure technologies.
Travel Requirement
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally based on project requirements, including support for installation, testing, commissioning, upgrades and troubleshooting at customer locations.
Changes made: Reduced the number of bullets, combined related activities with commas, removed repeated responsibilities and retained the core OT, TSI, networking, virtualization, Windows-hardening and project-execution requirements
