Our Public Health service is dedicated to achieving Norfolk County Council’s vision for Norfolk to be the place where everyone can start life well, live well and age well, and where no one is left behind.
Public Health in Norfolk works across a diverse and complex system, including core Public Health services, Trading Standards and Road Safety. Strong coordination and responsive business support are essential to turning priorities into practical delivery.
We are seeking a Public Health Delivery Lead to lead the Public Health Office delivery function and ensure that priorities, programmes and resources are coordinated effectively across the service.
In this role, you will translate agreed priorities into coordinated work programmes, provide clear oversight of progress and deploy business support resources where they add the greatest value.
You will
Develop and maintain the Public Health business programme, with clear milestones, dependencies, risks and exception reporting
Lead and develop the Public Health Office and Business Support Officers, setting priorities, service standards and performance expectations
Coordinate corporate work programmes, service meetings, internal communications and all-officer initiatives
Oversee coordinated responses to public, partner and elected Member enquiries, complaints and Freedom of Information requests
Support operational resilience and continuous improvement, ensuring delivery issues are addressed and learning informs future work
Working closely with the Senior Management Team, service managers, programme leads and corporate colleagues, you will provide clear delivery reporting, coordinate resources and ensure agreed actions are followed through. You will also work alongside the Governance Lead and Grant Compliance Lead while respecting their specialist accountabilities.
You will bring significant experience of public sector business support, successful team management and leading complex programmes or projects. You will be able to build effective relationships at all levels, manage competing priorities and communicate complex information clearly.
This is an excellent opportunity to take a key leadership role in making strategy happen and strengthening coordinated delivery across a high-profile, system-wide service.
