About Optomec -

Optomec develops advanced additive manufacturing and software technologies, including Aerosol Jet solutions for printed electronics, sensors, advanced packaging, and precision industrial applications. The company integrates digital design, intelligent engineering workflows, and manufacturing technology to help customers move from concept to production.

Position Overview -

Optomec seeks a hands-on, customer-facing Solutions Architect who can design and demonstrate AI-powered engineering applications and Aerosol Jet manufacturing solutions. This individual will translate customer requirements into CAD models, toolpaths, prototypes, and compelling proof-of-concept (POC) demonstrations, while partnering with Sales, Engineering, and Software Development to turn technical success into commercial adoption.

Core responsibilities -

Lead technical discovery with customers; define application requirements, feasibility criteria, technical risks, and measurable POC success milestones.

Create and modify 2D/3D CAD models, fixtures, substrate layouts, manufacturing designs, and print-ready toolpaths; work with STEP, STL, DXF, DWG, Gerber, and G-code workflows.

Build and present AI-powered application demonstrations, including AI-assisted CAD preparation, design optimization, automated toolpath creation, part placement, and manufacturing workflow recommendations.

Support customer adoption of Optomec Design Studio, JET AI, Factory Intelligence Studio, and Aerosol Jet technology; clearly explain AI capabilities, limitations, and engineering validation.

Plan, execute, document, and present POC printing trials; collaborate on process parameters, materials, quality measurements, repeatability, and production-readiness recommendations.

Partner with Sales on account discovery, technical qualification, customer presentations, proposals, ROI discussions, and conversion of validated POCs into equipment and software opportunities.

Work closely with software developers on product requirements, issue reproduction, user acceptance testing, and improvements driven by customer feedback.

Create reusable demos, application notes, technical training materials, and customer handoff documentation; travel to customer sites when needed.

Performance and Commercial Impact -

POC quality, on-time completion, and conversion into qualified commercial opportunities.

Customer satisfaction, software adoption, technical demonstration effectiveness, and sales-team enablement.

Contribution to equipment/software bookings under an agreed commission-crediting plan; accurate technical documentation and cross-team handoffs.

Location and compensation -

California base salary range: $105,000–$120,000 per year. The position is eligible for sales commission under the company’s applicable commission plan. Actual compensation depends on relevant experience, location, and qualifications. Commission eligibility, crediting, payment terms, and performance requirements are governed by a written company plan. Benefits may include health coverage, paid time off, and retirement programs, subject to applicable plans.

Optomec is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants in accordance with applicable federal

and California law.
