For a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, this environment provides hands-on ownership of business-critical production systems, complex database and infrastructure troubleshooting, patching and deployment automation, and continuous improvement of service reliability.
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will support the reliability, scalability, performance, and operational lifecycle of Autonomous Database Serverless (ADBS) infrastructure and services. The role requires deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Exadata, OCI, database/infrastructure upgrades and patching, incident response, automation, capacity management, and production troubleshooting, including the ability to troubleshoot across the Exadata and OS layers.
Key Responsibilities
Design, operate, and continuously improve highly reliable and scalable infrastructure supporting Autonomous Database Serverless (ADBS).
Administer and optimize high-availability Oracle database environments using Oracle RAC and ASM, with responsibility for service health, performance, capacity, and operational reliability.
Execute end-to-end Exadata lifecycle management, including infrastructure upgrades, storage expansion, quarterly patching/QFSDP activities, and related maintenance across Exadata generations.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across Exadata hardware, database, network, and OS layers, including incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem activities.
Use Exadata capabilities and database performance techniques, including SQL tuning, Smart Scans, Storage Indexes, and Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC), to improve performance and resource efficiency.
Develop and maintain automation using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible for infrastructure provisioning, database operations, monitoring, remediation, and recurring maintenance.
Partner with software development and cross-functional teams to assess infrastructure changes, capacity requirements, deployments, reliability risks, and operational impact.
Participate in on-call operations, health/performance reporting, technical analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned to service reliability and SLOs.
