- Develop and implement machine-safety control architectures using safety PLCs, safety relays, interlocks, emergency-stop circuits, safety light curtains, area scanners, two-hand controls, and guarding systems.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, robotics, motion-control, vision, and industrial-networking systems.
- Perform safety-function verification and validation, including testing of emergency stops, guards, interlocks, safe torque off, and related protective measures.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control-panel documentation, safety requirement specifications, cause-and-effect matrices, validation protocols, and test records.
- Support equipment commissioning, upgrades, modifications, and production launches while ensuring safety requirements are incorporated early in the design process.
- Establish preventive-maintenance and periodic-inspection requirements for safety-related control systems and safeguarding devices.
- Improve machine diagnostics, alarm management, and fault recovery to enhance safe uptime and maintenance response.
- Partner with EHS personnel to conduct machine and process risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement risk-reduction measures.

- Assist with investigations of incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and safety-system failures; contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective-action implementation.
- Support lockout/tagout program development and implementation, including equipment-specific energy-control procedures.
- Participate in safety audits, compliance assessments, ergonomic reviews, pre-startup safety reviews, and management-of-change activities.
- Assist in developing and delivering training for operators, maintenance personnel, engineers, and contractors on automation safety systems, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and safe operating practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related technical discipline.
