Purchasing Manager

Pay: $112,005-$134,405 annually

The Purchasing Manager leads the Commodity and Hardlines Buying team while maintaining assigned product groups and vendor relationships as specified by the VP of Purchasing. This working-manager role oversees purchasing, inventory management, supplier relationships, and team performance to support product availability, operational needs, and company profitability.

The position works closely with leadership, operations, sales, marketing/merchandising, internal customers, and vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage Commodity and Hardlines Buyers and Purchasing support staff
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on sales volume, purchasing plans, and location needs
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms in the company’s best interest
• Manage assigned product groups, vendors, contracts, renewals, vendor programs, and due diligence
• Identify and introduce new products and vendors and support their integration into inventory
• Develop and manage department budgets and financial objectives in partnership with the VP of Purchasing
• Oversee supplier escalations, product claims, and resolutions in collaboration with Sales, Operations, vendors, and the Director of Purchasing
• Serve as a liaison between Purchasing and Marketing/Merchandising and maintain effective communication across departments and locations
• Support team product knowledge and continuous improvement of purchasing processes
• Manage department staffing needs, including timecards, time-off requests, and coverage
• Perform other related duties as assigned
