Lead Consultant - Software Engineering

What You'll Do

This role is part of the Integration team responsible for the enterprise Managed File Transfer capability. The Senior Consultant will serve as the technical SME and technical lead for the GoAnywhere platform, providing deep technical expertise while driving platform architecture, engineering standards, operational stability, and future strategy.

The position requires 15+ years of overall technology experience, with strong expertise in enterprise integration and Managed File Transfer platforms, particularly GoAnywhere. The individual will provide technical direction to the engineering team, lead complex solution and architecture decisions, and help establish and mature the GoAnywhere capability within GCH.

The role will also be instrumental in enabling upcoming transitions and positioning the team to support future enterprise integration requirements.

GoAnywhere Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Serve as the GoAnywhere technical SME and technical authority, providing direction and guidance to engineers supporting the platform.
• Define and drive the technical roadmap and future strategy for the GoAnywhere MFT platform, aligned with enterprise integration and technology direction.
• Lead architecture and solution design for complex Managed File Transfer and enterprise integration requirements.
• Establish engineering standards, design patterns, operational practices and reusable solutions for the GoAnywhere platform.
• Provide technical leadership for the transition of GoAnywhere capabilities and knowledge from HO to GCH, reducing dependency on individual expertise over time.
• Provide technical leadership and solution oversight for upcoming BEAM and SEA transitions, as well as future integration initiatives.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, security and integration teams to design scalable and supportable solutions.

Platform Engineering & Architecture

• Architect, administer and evolve GoAnywhere MFT environments across non-production and production environments.
• Lead complex installation, configuration, migration, patching and platform upgrade initiatives.
• Provide expertise across GoAnywhere projects, workflows, schedulers, monitors, partner configurations and secure file-transfer patterns.
• Design solutions leveraging secure transfer protocols including SFTP, FTPS and HTTPS.
• Provide technical oversight for AWS infrastructure supporting GoAnywhere, including EC2, Load Balancers, VPC, Route53, S3, RDS, IAM, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager and CloudWatch.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, including development of scalable and reusable modules and automation patterns.
• Drive appropriate use of GitHub and CI/CD practices for platform engineering and infrastructure changes.

Who You Are

• 15+ years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in enterprise integration, middleware, Managed File Transfer or related platform engineering.
• Deep hands-on expertise with GoAnywhere MFT in large enterprise environments.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership for enterprise platforms or integration services.
• Strong experience designing and supporting GoAnywhere on AWS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly Terraform.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and secure file-transfer technologies.
• Experience with enterprise-scale platform upgrades, migrations, DR, security remediation and production support.
• Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure, networking, IAM, security, monitoring and resiliency concepts.
• Experience working with CI/CD, GitHub, ServiceNow, JIRA and Confluence.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues spanning application, infrastructure, network, database and integration layers.
• Experience influencing architecture and engineering decisions across multiple technical teams.
