Duties and Responsibilities
Define and execute PI’s life science market strategy; identify and prioritize growth opportunities across pharmaceutical manufacturing, bioprocessing, medical device, and adjacent regulated life science segments where PI’s analyzer and instrumentation portfolio delivers measurable value.
Serve as PI’s senior technical and commercial authority for the life science vertical; develop deep expertise in customer measurement challenges, regulatory requirements, and buying processes across pharma, biopharma, and medical device markets.
Lead market development activities including target account identification, key opinion leader engagement, customer application development, and partnership cultivation with system integrators, CDMOs, and equipment OEMs serving the life science sector.
Partner with Product Management and the Director of Engineering to define life science-specific product requirements, application performance criteria, and regulatory compliance considerations (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11, USP standards, FDA/EMA guidance) that inform the PI product roadmap.
Collaborate with Applications Engineering to develop and validate measurement solutions for life science applications including process analytical technology (PAT), in-line and at-line monitoring, cleanroom gas purity, and controlled environment analysis.
Develop life science-specific application content including application notes, white papers, validation protocols, regulatory compliance summaries, and customer case studies that establish PI as a trusted partner in regulated manufacturing environments.
Partner with Regional Sales Managers and the Sales VP to develop life science sales strategies, key account plans, and territory-level go-to-market approaches; provide technical sales support for high-value or complex life science opportunities.
Represent PI at life science industry conferences, trade shows, and regulatory forums (e.g., ISPE, PDA, BioProcess International); build PI’s brand credibility and commercial relationships across the life science ecosystem.
Monitor regulatory developments, industry standards, and competitive activity in the life science instrumentation space; provide strategic intelligence to the President and ELT to inform product, commercial, and compliance decisions.
Build and manage relationships with life science industry associations, standards bodies, and regulatory agencies relevant to PI’s measurement solutions.
Apply PI core values to all tasks and responsibilities: operational excellence, communication, service-mindedness, innovation, integrity, and collaboration.
Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, actively identifying potential hazards, and promoting a culture of safety among the team.
Develop personal skills and capability through ongoing training as provided by the Company or elsewhere subject to Company approval.
Apply equal amounts of skill and dedication to all other duties as assigned.
