This role is part of our Management Internship/Co-op program. As an intern, you will be given real responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders on meaningful projects that deliver tangible business results. The Management Intern job family at Procter & Gamble encompasses roles that involve supporting and assisting in the execution of strategies within the team or organization, participating in the development and implementation of new ideas, techniques, procedures, services, or products under guidance.
Data Scientists at P&G are passionate about transforming data into valuable insights and business decisions. We mine terabytes of data, develop robust models and algorithms, influence business strategy, and deploy production-ready solutions in the fields of predictive modeling, optimization, natural language processing, computer vision, and more.
Within our Supply Chain IT organization, we help make sure everyday essential products (like diapers, laundry detergents, disinfectants, soap, and shampoos) reliably reach people where and when they need them.
During your internship, you will join our Data Science and MLOps team to assist in developing predictive modeling solutions relating to events of high volatility and previously unseen patterns. Your core project will involve building a Proof-of-Concept (POC) time-series model on our Forecasting Factory platform and participating in taking that project toward productization.
This internship will challenge you to "go beyond Kaggle." Under direct supervision and guidance from senior data scientists, you will learn how to build sustainable, economical, and production-grade machine learning models. You will write reusable Python code and collaborate with an international network of specialists and business analysts across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing data science strategies within the Supply Chain IT organization.
- Participate in the development and implementation of time-series algorithms and predictive models under the guidance of senior team members.
- Write modular, clean, and reusable Python code to contribute to internal packages and analytics solutions.
- Collaborate and network effectively within your immediate team and broader cross-functional domains to maximize business impact and personal learning.
- Work under direct supervision, following well-defined engineering precedents, coding standards, and governance policies.
- Learn to explain, visualize, and troubleshoot machine learning models' behavior alongside business domain specialists.
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities and assist in change management initiatives for new analytical processes.
Job Qualifications
We are looking for
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Foundational Data Science background in supervised learning, time series forecasting, and core machine learning algorithms (e.g., XGBoost, LightGBM, scikit-learn).
- Good Python programming skills with an eagerness to write modular, well-documented, and reusable code.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, think critically, and solve problems proactively.
- A strong eagerness to learn, grow, and take ownership of projects from day one.
- Awareness of relevant stewardship, data governance, and ethical standards, and a commitment to acting accordingly.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Nice to have
- Familiarity with tools such as Git and SQL; any introductory exposure to Spark, Databricks, or Microsoft Azure is helpful.
- Prior interest or foundational knowledge in Supply Chain, Logistics, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) domains.
- A genuine passion to transform how decisions are made and how machine learning empowers human decision-makers through scaled analytics.
- Proven success in deriving insights from data (e.g., through university research, coursework, or personal projects) and communicating them clearly.
