Software Quality Engineer-Automation

Join the team as our new Software Quality Engineer – Automation – India You will be responsible for driving test automation, improving test coverage, and ensuring high product quality across multiple product teams. As part of our Software Quality Center of Excellence (CoE), you will design and implement scalable automation solutions, strengthen quality engineering practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will also leverage modern AI/LLM tools to enhance test development, debugging, defect analysis, and overall testing efficiency. What You'll Do: Build & Enhance Test Automation Frameworks Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and reusable automation components. Build and enhance automation frameworks to support scalable and efficient testing across multiple product teams. Perform hands-on automation testing for web applications, APIs, and backend services.

Contribute to automation standards, reusable libraries, and best practices within the Software Quality CoE. Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, maintainability, and testing efficiency. Drive End-to-End Quality Engineering & Testing Execute automated testing across Web UI, API, and backend applications to ensure product quality and reliability. Perform manual and exploratory testing when automation is not feasible or appropriate.

Apply software testing methodologies and test design techniques to develop effective test scenarios. Analyse test execution results, identify defects, and support root cause analysis. Collaborate with development and product teams to identify quality risks and resolve issues throughout the software development lifecycle. Integrate Automation into CI/CD & Continuous Testing Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.

Work closely with DevOps and development teams to improve testing efficiency within software delivery workflows. Support automated test execution and validation as part of continuous integration and deployment processes. Identify and troubleshoot automation failures, test execution issues, and pipeline-related challenges. Contribute to improving the reliability and effectiveness of automated testing practices. Leverage AI/LLM Tools for Quality Engineering Use modern AI/LLM tools to accelerate test case generation, automation scripting, and test development.

Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve debugging, defect investigation, and failure analysis. Explore opportunities to enhance testing productivity through AI-supported automation practices. Apply AI/LLM capabilities to streamline repetitive testing activities and improve engineering efficiency. Continuously evaluate new approaches to AI-assisted testing and contribute relevant practices to the Quality CoE. Collaborate Across Product Teams & Drive Quality Standards Work closely with Software Developers, Product Teams, and DevOps Engineers to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

Collaborate across multiple product teams to support automation adoption and improve test coverage. Contribute reusable automation assets, testing standards, and best practices to the Software Quality CoE. Share knowledge and practical testing approaches to strengthen quality engineering capabilities. Promote continuous improvement in automation frameworks, testing processes, and overall product quality. What It Takes: Technical 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Engineering and Test Automation.

Strong experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, REST Assured, or equivalent technologies. Strong programming experience in Python and C#. Hands-on experience in Web UI, API, and backend automation testing. Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and QA best practices. Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

Experience working with source control systems such as Git. Hands-on experience using AI/LLM tools for test generation, automation scripting, debugging, failure analysis, and productivity improvements. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Experience in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) or Digital Manufacturing domains is an advantage. Exposure to performance testing, security testing, or test data management is preferred.

Familiarity with cloud-based testing or containerised environments using Docker or Kubernetes is an added advantage. Leadership & Collaboration Experience collaborating with Software Developers, Product Teams, DevOps Engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to work across multiple product teams and contribute to shared automation and quality engineering initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to discuss technical issues and testing outcomes effectively.

Ability to contribute to automation standards, reusable testing assets, and best practices across the Software Quality CoE. Strong problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
