At PGIM, You Can!

What you will do

PGIM is seeking an Analyst or Associate, Data Analytics & Governance to join our Global Business Enablement team within Real Estate. This role supports two closely connected priorities: delivering trusted data products and analytics that inform decisions across the real estate investment lifecycle, and putting into practice the data governance that keeps that information accurate, well-defined and reusable.

Working alongside other team members, business stakeholders, data stewards and Technology partners, the Analyst/Associate will document business requirements, trace data back to its sources, catalog and define data elements, and build, monitor and report on data quality rules. This is a hands-on role for an early-career professional who enjoys getting into the data, wants to understand how a global real estate investment business operates, and is excited to grow in a modern, AI-enabled data environment.

This is a hybrid role (on-site 3 times a week) based in Newark, NJ or New York, NY.

What you can expect

Data Analytics

  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders and document the questions, users, definitions, calculations and acceptance criteria for new data products and reports.
  • Trace the full data lineage for each new data product, mapping every required data element back to its source system, owner and transformations, and documenting gaps, overlaps and conflicting definitions.
  • Partner with Technology team members to build and maintain analytical datasets and reports using SQL, Power BI / Fabric and Excel, combining data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Work directly with source data to validate assumptions, reconcile results across funds, systems and reports, and investigate variances and anomalies.
  • Support business testing and validation of new data products by preparing test cases, comparing outputs to source and historical data, and logging and tracking issues to resolution.
  • Help convert recurring ad-hoc requests into reusable datasets and self-service reports, reducing manual effort and one-off spreadsheet builds.
  • Prepare and normalize data sets for reporting.
  • Prepare user guides, data dictionaries and training materials that explain what each data product contains and the questions it can answer.
  • Support AI use cases across the team by documenting requirements, testing AI-generated outputs for accuracy and reasonableness.

Data Governance

  • Catalog data elements in the firm's data catalog tool (e.g., Microsoft Purview), capturing business definitions, owners, source systems, classifications and lineage.
  • Maintain the business glossary to keep terminology, calculations and definitions consistent across teams and regions.
  • Partner with data stewards and subject-matter experts to establish data quality rules (e.g., completeness, validity, consistency, timeliness and accuracy) and encode them as automated, repeatable checks.
  • Monitor data quality and produce regular data quality metrics, scorecards and trend reporting for stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues, tracing them back to their source, and refer them to the appropriate data stewards for remediation; track issues through to resolution and confirm fixes are made at the source rather than in downstream reports.
  • Support governance processes, including change management for definitions and datasets, data access requests and the appropriate handling of sensitive data.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, finance, economics, real estate, data/analytics or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, data governance, data quality or reporting, ideally in commercial real estate, investment/asset management or financial services.
  • Working proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel; hands-on experience with Power BI or a similar BI tool (Microsoft Fabric a plus) and with semantic models.
  • Familiarity with data governance concepts, including data catalogs, business glossaries, data lineage, data quality rules and metrics, master data management; experience with Microsoft Purview, Ataccama or similar tools is a plus.
  • Ability to write clear, well-structured documentation, including business requirements, data definitions, lineage maps and test results.
  • Comfort working with large, imperfect datasets and reconciling data across multiple systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the instinct to dig into a number that looks wrong and the persistence to find out why.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both business and technical colleagues.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI and emerging technologies, demonstrated by hands-on use of current tools and ongoing self-directed learning.
  • Interest in commercial real estate and investment management; prior exposure is a plus.
  • A collaborative, curious and organized approach, with an eagerness to learn and grow.
