Our world is transforming, and PTC is leading the way. Our software brings the physical and digital worlds together, enabling companies to improve operations, create better products, and empower people in all aspects of their business.
Our people make all the difference in our success. Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow – all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible.
About the Team
AI has fundamentally changed what is possible in terms of understanding business performance and opportunities to accelerate. PTC's Solution Sales Strategy & Analytics team is the analytical engine behind our solution go-to-market for our digital thread offerings. We are an AI-forward team: we use AI agents, automation, and modern analytics to compress the time from raw data to decision, so our people spend less time assembling numbers and more time shaping what happens next.
Our mission is simple: accelerate growth by turning data into insight, and insight into action through our GTM partners. Sales leaders, Solution VPs, sales operations, finance, and executive leadership rely on us for a clear, trusted, and forward-looking view of the business every week, and to help determine how we accelerate growth in the long term.
Role Summary
As an Analyst on the team, you will own understanding of, and strategy for, the GTM of PTC’s largest products and business units. Through forecasting, pipeline, and performance analytics, you will help leaders understand what is needed to accelerate growth and drive better outcomes. You will pull data from Clari, Salesforce, Power BI, and plan models; build and refresh the weekly forecast and monthly review materials; and, most importantly, translate what the numbers say into clear recommendations that sales leaders can act on. You will work hands-on with AI tools to automate recurring work and raise the bar on the speed and quality of our insights.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Landing Views
- Own the weekly Solution Sales forecast deck: refresh Solution VP and DVP forecast and best case from Clari, closed-won and pipeline from Salesforce, and plan and prior-year comparisons, then tie out totals across solutions and geographies.
- Explain week-over-week forecast movement, calling out the deals, segments, and geos driving changes and where the forecast is at risk or has upside.
- Build current- and next-quarter outlooks, including yield-based landing estimates from historical pipeline coverage, forecast trajectory views, and half-year roll-ups.
- Maintain forecast history and supporting models so trend and accuracy analysis builds automatically over time.
Pipeline & Performance Analytics
- Produce monthly solution performance reviews covering pipeline creation, bookings, coverage, and marketing impact, compared quarter-to-date against the same point in prior quarters.
- Track pipeline coverage for the current quarter and rolling four quarters, flag gaps early, and quantify what is needed to close them.
- Analyze ARR, renewals, and churn risk, including renewal terms, price-increase terms, and mitigation status for top at-risk accounts.
- Monitor key account and deal activity, including top-account tables, pushed or missed deals, and the business reasons behind changes in close timing.
Executive & Earnings Support
- Prepare deal summaries for leadership and earnings preparation, including current state, next steps, compelling events, and forecast-confidence assessments.
- Write concise commentary and summary slides that lead with the "so what" and the recommended action, not just the numbers.
- Insight to Action with GTM Partners
- Partner with Solution VPs, sales leaders, sales operations, and finance to turn analysis into specific actions, such as focus accounts, pipeline-generation priorities, and deal-level follow-ups.
- Follow through on recommendations and measure whether they moved the outcome.
- Serve as a trusted, objective voice on the health of the business.
AI, Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Use AI agents and assistants across Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce, and Clari to automate data pulls, deck refreshes, tie-outs, and first-draft commentary.
- Turn repeatable workflows into documented, reusable automations so the team scales without adding manual effort.
- Improve data quality and definitions with sales operations and validate AI-generated output for accuracy before it reaches stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first six to twelve months, you will
- Independently own the weekly forecast refresh and monthly review for assigned solutions, delivered on time and tied out.
- Execute territory and quota planning annually to accelerate growth and increase focus.
- Validate long-range and annual plans.
- Be the go-to analyst your GTM partners call for a quick, reliable read on forecast, pipeline, or account health.
- Have automated at least one recurring workflow end to end, measurably reducing cycle time.
- Have influenced at least one concrete GTM decision, such as a pipeline push, account focus, or forecast call, with your analysis.
- This role will continue to evolve with our business, creating greater strategic exposure as trust from business partners increases.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in sales operations, sales or revenue analytics, FP&A, consulting, or a similar analytical role (strong new graduates with relevant internships will be considered).
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and building clean, auditable models.
- Experience building clear, executive-ready PowerPoint materials.
- Working knowledge of sales funnel concepts: pipeline, coverage, conversion and yield, forecast categories, bookings, and ARR.
- Hands-on curiosity about AI tools and a habit of using them to work faster and smarter.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, including the discipline to check and tie out numbers.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain what the data means and what to do about it.
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce (reports, dashboards, SOQL) and Clari or a similar forecasting platform.
- Experience with Power BI or another BI tool; SQL or Python is a plus.
- Experience automating workflows with AI agents, copilots, or scripting.
- Familiarity with B2B enterprise software, SaaS metrics, or the PLM, ALM, and service lifecycle markets.
- Experience supporting senior sales leadership or a quarterly forecast and earnings cadence.
Core Skills & Attributes
- Insight-driven: goes beyond reporting to answer "so what?" and "now what?"
- AI-forward: treats automation as part of the job, not a side project.
- Business partner mindset: builds trust with sales leaders and drives follow-through.
- Ownership: takes responsibility for deliverables from data pull to final recommendation.
- Comfort with ambiguity and pace: thrives in a weekly, deadline-driven cadence.
Tools & Technology
Salesforce, Clari, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, plus AI assistants and agents integrated across these tools.
