Description
Commercial Personal Injury Litigation Attorney
- Pusch & Wynne Injury Lawyers | Houston, TX
- Salary: Starting at $140,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a Competitive Attorney Incentive Program
- Job Type: Full-Time | In-Office
About the Position
Pusch & Wynne Injury Lawyers is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Vehicle Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our growing litigation team in Houston, Texas.
We are specifically looking for an attorney with proven experience handling plaintiff-side commercial vehicle personal injury litigation, including 18-wheeler accidents, trucking collisions, and other commercial motor vehicle cases.
Direct experience in commercial vehicle personal injury litigation is a MUST. This is not an entry-level position, and general personal injury or commercial business litigation experience alone will not meet the requirements for this role.
The ideal candidate is a confident litigator who can independently manage complex commercial vehicle injury cases, develop effective litigation strategies, and advocate aggressively for injured clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of commercial vehicle personal injury litigation matters from filing through resolution or trial.
- Handle cases involving 18-wheelers, tractor-trailers, commercial trucks, delivery vehicles, and other commercial motor vehicles.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses.
- Investigate liability, evaluate damages, and identify potential responsible parties.
- Work with accident reconstruction experts, medical professionals, and other specialists.
- Handle mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Develop litigation strategies to maximize case value and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and collaborate with paralegals and litigation support staff.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
- Demonstrated plaintiff-side commercial vehicle personal injury litigation experience — REQUIRED.
- Experience handling 18-wheeler, trucking, or other commercial motor vehicle accident cases.
- Strong knowledge of Texas personal injury law, civil litigation procedures, and commercial vehicle liability.
- Experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and litigation case management.
- Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- First-chair or second-chair trial experience in commercial vehicle personal injury cases.
- Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
- Experience litigating catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims.
- Experience using Filevine or similar legal case management software.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Starting at $140,000 annually, depending on experience.
- Competitive Attorney Incentive Program.
- Medical insurance and additional employee benefits.
- Paid time off and firm-recognized holidays.
- Opportunity to work on complex, high-value commercial vehicle litigation cases.
- Established litigation support team and opportunities for professional growth.
Important Applicant Requirement
Applicants MUST have direct experience handling commercial vehicle personal injury litigation cases on the plaintiff side.
Candidates whose experience is limited to standard automobile accident cases, general personal injury matters, insurance defense, or commercial business litigation will not be considered unless they also have the required plaintiff-side commercial vehicle litigation experience.
