Job Description & Summary
At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.
In deal valuation at PwC, you will focus on providing analysis and valuation services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions. You will help clients make informed decisions by assessing the worth and potential risks of various deals.
Do you want to understand what really drives the value of a business? Join our Valuation & Modelling team and support clients at decisive moments – from transactions and financing to financial reporting, tax and strategic questions.
Your tasks
As a member of our Valuation & Modelling team, you will help corporates, private equity investors and financial institutions make sound decisions on transactions, financing and strategic questions.
You will perform business valuations as well as valuations of individual assets and liabilities, such as intangible assets, in the context of transactions, financial reporting (e.g. purchase price allocations and impairment tests) and tax matters (e.g. intra-group transfers and restructurings).
You will analyse business plans, value drivers, markets and peer companies, apply common valuation approaches (e.g. DCF, multiples) and translate your findings into clear conclusions for our clients.
You will build and review financial models as one of the tools that support valuation, transaction and planning decisions.
You will prepare reports and presentations, work directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues from Deals, Tax and Assurance on national and cross-border engagements.
You will take on responsibility early on and quickly build broad consulting skills in a dynamic team and a work environment characterised by flexibility and diversity.
You will actively contribute to the further development of the team, for example by sharing knowledge and helping to bring data analytics and AI into our daily work.
Your profile
- You hold a master's degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Economics or a related quantitative field, ideally with a specialisation in corporate finance or accounting.
- You have a good understanding of valuation, corporate finance and accounting, ideally gained through first practical experience, e.g. an internship in valuation, transaction services, corporate finance or audit.
- You have strong analytical skills, enjoy working with numbers and want to understand the business behind them – its strategy, market position and value drivers.
- You are confident with MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience in financial modelling is an advantage, and you are keen to use data analytics and AI tools in your work.
- You communicate clearly and convincingly in writing and speaking and are fluent in German and English; French is a plus.
- You work precisely and reliably, also on several projects in parallel and under tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
- You enjoy teamwork, are curious, challenge ideas constructively and bring in experiences that you have gained outside of PwC.
