Ignite Your Future: Technical Leadership

Are you a seasoned systems engineer who has built or architected enterprise ERP software, and who now wants to lead the modernization of a global ERP platform? Join QAD, where we are redefining the supply chain through a single System of Action that connects people, processes, and data.

As a Technical Architect, you will be the single senior architect for our Adaptive ERP platform. You will lead the ERP modernization initiative, raise the engineering bar across services, security and delivery practices, and mentor and grow the architects around you. This is a hands-on, senior technical leadership role: deep engineering judgment first, with AI as an important and growing part of the work.

The Mission: Defining the Platform's Future

You will set the technical direction for how Adaptive ERP evolves: how it is built, secured, released and operated. You will bring structure to engineering practices that need to mature, define the modernization roadmap, and make sure the platform is ready to take advantage of AI as it becomes part of how ERP works. You will do this by combining hands-on engineering depth with the ability to bring a large organization along.

Your Impact: What You Will Be Doing

Lead ERP Modernization: Own the architecture and roadmap for modernizing Adaptive ERP, including service decomposition, platform evolution and migration paths that protect existing customers while enabling new capabilities.

Set Systems Engineering Standards: Define and uphold best practices across Java services, backend and frontend engineering, API design, data, performance, resilience and security.

Establish CI/CD and Release Practices: Design and drive modern CI/CD pipelines, release strategy, environment management and quality gates so the team can ship reliably and frequently.

Be the Single Point of Architecture Ownership: Act as the lead architect for Adaptive ERP, partnering with engineering leadership, product and other architecture teams to make and defend key technical decisions.

Mentor and Enable Architects: Grow the architects and senior engineers around you through coaching, design reviews and clear standards. Act as a people enabler who helps the whole group succeed.

Navigate the Organization: Build alignment across teams and leaders, resolve architectural conflicts and move people toward shared technical decisions.

Bring AI into ERP Pragmatically: Identify and pilot high-value AI capabilities within ERP workflows, experiment quickly, learn from what doesn't work and scale what does.

Govern Technology Choices: Lead build-versus-buy and technology evaluations with clear reasoning on cost, risk and long-term maintainability.

Core Technical Foundations: What We Are Looking For

Systems Engineering Depth (primary): Strong, hands-on command of enterprise application engineering: Java and Spring-style services, backend and frontend architecture, security, distributed systems, cloud-native deployment, and observability.

CI/CD and Release Excellence: Proven experience setting up or significantly improving CI/CD, release engineering and engineering quality practices for a large codebase or product.

ERP Understanding: Real exposure to ERP, as an architect, platform engineer or solution designer, on products such as SAP, Oracle (Fusion, NetSuite, EBS), Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Epicor or similar. Any ERP domain is welcome (finance, supply chain, manufacturing, HR). We are looking for people who have contributed to building ERP, not only configured or implemented it.

AI Readiness: Curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI and GenAI in enterprise workflows, including trying things that may fail. Deep AI specialization is a plus, but systems engineering is the core of this role.

Measurable Outcomes: A track record of quantified results such as release speed, reliability, performance, cost or delivery improvements.

The Mindset

  • People Enabler: Raises the people around them, mentors other architects and builds team capability.
  • Organizational Navigator: Understands how large engineering organizations work, builds trust quickly and influences without relying on authority.
  • Mature and Pragmatic: Balances innovation with the stability enterprise customers depend on, and learns the nuances of an organization quickly.
  • Experimenter: Ready to take chances, test new ideas and learn from failure.
  • Degree: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 13+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant time in Staff, Senior Staff, Principal or Architect-level roles at a product company, ideally an ERP or enterprise application vendor.
  • Scope: Has led architecture for a large, complex product or platform and mentored other architects or senior engineers.
  • Preferred: Experience leading a modernization, re-platforming or cloud migration of an enterprise application; exposure to AI or GenAI initiatives in enterprise software.
  • Location: This is an on-site opportunity based in Pune with 3-4 days work from the office. Only candidates willing to be based in Pune will be eligible.
  • Why QAD?
  • Scope & Ownership: Be the lead architect for Adaptive ERP at a global manufacturing software company, with a mandate to shape how the platform modernizes.
  • Growth: Benefit from structured mentorship and development programs designed for rapid career growth.
  • Inclusive Culture: Join a collaborative and inclusive environment that champions learning, growth, and diverse perspectives.
  • Ready to step into the future of manufacturing? Apply now and start building a System of Action!
  • Your health and well being are important to us at QAD. We provide programs that help you strike a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to join a growing business, launching into its next phase of expansion and transformation.
