JOB TITLE

New Polyester Sourcing Manager

Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard global polyester fiber and yarn suppliers that meet quality and sustainability standards.
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure alignment with brand values and traceability requirements.
• Source high-quality polyester fiber and yarn at competitive prices, balancing cost against performance.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers and spinning mills.
• Monitor global polyester market trends and feedstock pricing to inform purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with quality teams to define specifications and ensure supplier lots meet standards.
• Drive responsible sourcing initiatives and partner with industry certifications to validate practices.
• Partner with Production, R&D, and Planning teams to align on demand forecasts and sourcing strategies.
• Maintain documentation of supplier contracts, test results, and quality performance for audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Textiles, Polymer Science, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience sourcing synthetic fibers or yarns, ideally polyester or other engineered fibers.
• Deep understanding of global polyester sourcing regions and pricing dynamics.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier contracts globally.
• Ability to interpret fiber and yarn testing reports and connect them to product quality.
• Familiarity with ethical sourcing practices and sustainability standards.

Preferred

• Established relationships with polyester polymer producers or textile mills.
• Experience with recycled polyester programs or bio-based initiatives.
• Knowledge of customs, logistics, and import regulations for synthetic fibers and yarns.
• Experience with sourcing systems or ERP tools for supplier management.
