Primary Responsibilities
- Leads the architecture, design, and implementation of complex, enterprise-scale cloud solutions, primarily across AWS and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Serves as a primary Subject Matter Expert for all cloud computing environments.
- Defines and drives the organization’s cloud strategy, standards, and best practices
- Leads cross-functional initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate infrastructure-level security risks
- Establishes and enforces architectural governance, design principles, and compliance standards
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to architects, engineers, and technical teams
- Partners with leadership and stakeholders to align cloud initiatives with business objectives
- Oversees cloud infrastructure performance, cost optimization, reliability, and operational excellence
- Guides implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and DevOps best practices
- Directs incident response efforts related to cloud security threats and vulnerabilities
- Evaluates emerging technologies and drives adoption of innovative cloud solutions
Knowledge and Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure, or enterprise systems engineering
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and architecting AWS cloud environments in multi-account enterprise settings
- Deep expertise in cloud architecture domains, including networking, security, application integration, and data management
- Advanced knowledge of cloud security frameworks, threat detection, and risk mitigation strategies
- Strong experience with IAM, encryption, identity federation, and access governance
- Expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation frameworks
- Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)
- Proven experience designing hybrid cloud integrations with on-premises Microsoft environments
- Strong knowledge of AWS/Azure networking architecture (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, VPC design)
- Experience with cloud security and monitoring tools (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Macie, Inspector, WAF, SIEM integrations)
- Ability to lead architectural reviews, risk assessments, and complex technical decision-making
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
