About Us

Rolls‑Royce SMR is here to transform how nuclear energy is delivered—cleaner, faster and at global scale. Our teams are developing one of the world’s most advanced small modular reactors, helping secure affordable, low‑carbon energy for generations to come.

We’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support organisational governance, assurance, and compliance objectives through the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of audit, review, and assurance activities. The role is responsible for undertaking independent assessments of processes, systems, products, and associated controls to evaluate compliance, effectiveness, and risk management arrangements.

Working collaboratively with business functions and stakeholders, the role provides assurance that organisational, regulatory, customer, certification, and internal requirements are effectively implemented and maintained throughout the Rolls-Royce SMR business. Through a risk-informed approach, the role promotes continual improvement, operational excellence, organisational learning, and effective process ownership.

Where required to address business priorities and capacity demands, the role will work collaboratively with stakeholders to support compliance and governance activities, including deviation management, non-conformance processes, corrective actions, reporting, and associated data management.

What we’ll need you to do

  • Deliver audit, review, and assurance activities in accordance with approved plans and methodologies.
  • Develop competence in risk-based auditing, evidence gathering, reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders to support successful assurance programme.
  • Apply assurance activities consistently to identify non-conformances and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the effective management and closure of corrective actions through collaboration with process owners and stakeholders.
  • Support the development of other auditors and assurance personnel.
  • Demonstrate expertise in assurance techniques, compliance requirements, and governance processes.

  • Degree qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Significant quality assurance knowledge gained within a technical or programme environment.
  • Qualified Lead Auditor.
  • IT literate, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and present it as clear, actionable information.
  • Experience within the nuclear industry, including familiarity with regulatory requirements, ISO 19443, ASME III, and NQA-1 design and construction code expectations, would be desirable.
