- Collaborate with design engineering to influence product architectures for manufacturability, testability, robustness, and cost efficiency (DFM/DFA/DFT).
- Develop, evaluate, and validate manufacturing processes, test equipment, tooling, and inspection methods for new products.
- Coordinate the build, test, and analysis of engineering prototypes, first articles, and pilot units, ensuring manufacturing risks are identified and mitigated.
- Research, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks to support NPI initiatives and ensure design intent is met.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation including manufacturing instructions, process flows, test procedures, capacity models, and specifications required for production deployment.
- Generate and maintain product introduction schedules, cost analyses, and performance metrics to track readiness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement for new product lines.
- Coach and guide junior engineers or technicians involved in NPI activities.
What You Will Learn
- How to transition complex electrical and electronic designs from concept to full‑rate production in a high‑reliability environment.
- Hands‑on prototype build strategies, pilot line execution, and production readiness planning.
- Development and validation of manufacturing processes, test equipment, tooling, and inspection technologies for new products.
- How to drive cross-functional alignment with design and test engineering, supply chain, operations, and quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- 5 years of experience in electrical/electronics engineering with a focus on manufacturing, NPI, product development, or production support.
