Collins Aerospace, a business unit of RTX Corporation, is seeking a talented and innovative Artificial Intelligence and Automation Engineer to drive engineering efficiency by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and solution automation.

The Senior Engineering Manager – Digital Engineering AI Enablement and Automation (AEA) will play a pivotal role in driving engineering efficiency across Collins Aerospace by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and solution automation to deliver transformative solutions.

This position will focus on enabling faster cycle times, reducing total lifecycle costs, minimizing technical debt, and enhancing reusability across all business units within Collins Aerospace and engineering disciplines. The role requires a forward-thinking leader who thrives on innovation, collaboration, and delivering impactful solutions at scale.

What You Will Do

Lead by serving the team. Build trust, listen, remove obstacles, provide clarity, and create an environment where engineers feel empowered to take ownership and succeed.

Develop great engineers and future leaders. Coach team members, provide meaningful feedback, recognize strong performance, support career development, and help people find opportunities that challenge and grow them.

Stay connected to the technology. Participate in the design, development, coding, integration, testing, and debugging of embedded software while helping the team work through its toughest technical challenges.

Build and sustain a high-performing team. Recruit great talent, strengthen team capabilities, foster a welcoming and collaborative culture, and ensure people understand how their work contributes to the mission.

Turn commitments into results. Help teams establish clear priorities, anticipate risks, remove roadblocks, and deliver predictable program execution while continuously looking for ways to improve.

Shape the work ahead. Lead and contribute to engineering bids, proposals, estimates, staffing plans, and technical strategies that position our teams for future success.

Make the broader organization better. Collaborate across programs and engineering teams to share talent, technology, lessons learned, and best practices rather than optimizing only for your immediate team.

Build strong partnerships. Develop trusted relationships across Collins Engineering, Value Stream Leadership, program teams, and customers while maintaining transparency around priorities, progress, risks, and opportunities.

Champion engineering excellence. Lead initiatives to identify manual engineering tasks that can be optimized or replaced with AI-driven solutions and automation.
