Trainee-Test Engineer

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites, tools, and infrastructure to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional, performance, stress, and error handling scenarios
• Create and execute automated test cases to verify conformance to product requirements, design specifications, and customer-specific use cases
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to validate feature requirements, fault tolerance, and interoperability with 3rd party vendors
• Integrate AI-driven testing tools and frameworks to optimize test automation pipelines and improve execution efficiency.
• Utilize generative AI tools to accelerate the creation of test scenarios, test data, and automated test scripts.
• Collaborate in test case development to ensure seamless integration with automated testing frameworks
• Develop, maintain and execute test plans, test strategies for features under test to ensure functional, performance, stress, and error handling coverage
• Submit quality defect reports with reproducible steps while communicating customer impact and issue isolation information

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or engineering (in similar disciplines)

0-1 years of experience in Software development

Excellent programming skills in Python or similar languages and Scripting Skills (Shell, Bash, etc)

Experience using Git/GitHub for version control

• Familiarity with using AI coding assistants to write, debug, and optimize test code.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts for predictive test analysis or automated log debugging.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
• Self-starter attitude and ability to make decisions independently
• A helpful, can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of problems
• Strong desire to learn and grow
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a history of superb delivery against assigned tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Unix, Linux would be an asset
• Knowledge and experience on or more of the following would be an asset:

Relational Databases, Postgres, SQL

• Linux system configuration, Network Functions Virtualization, and Software Defined Networking
• DPDK & drivers
• Open protocol standards such as Diameter and/or REST interfaces
• Understanding of Quality Assurance processes and software development life cycle is an asset
• Familiarity with networking systems, hardware and software configurations, network switches, cable modem termination systems, configuration of software
• Debugging and troubleshooting problems in test and in production
• Experience with Wireshark and similar industry standards aids would be desirable
