Sanofi Healthcare/BioTech

Reference Data Management -Data Analyst

Hyderabad, India In person Full-time

Location: Hyderabad

About the job

The Reference Data Management (RDM) capability is a foundational pillar of Sanofi's commercial data ecosystem, designed to deliver clean, governed, and AI-ready reference data and codelists at enterprise scale.

RDM manages 200+ commercial codelists spanning 50 countries, providing the standardized definitions, mappings, hierarchies, and classifications that underpin downstream analytics, AI models, and business intelligence across the commercial organization. These codelists — covering domains such as markets, products, customers, hierarchies, and organizational structures — serve as the single source of truth for commercial reference data, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across global markets.

The capability integrates tightly with Sanofi's Snowflake-based data platform, where RDM data is consumed by 50+ downstream systems, data shares, and AI/analytics applications. A key architectural principle is that clean, governed codelists are the foundation for AI/analytics consumption — without accurate, well-structured reference data, AI models and business insights cannot be trusted or scaled.

RDM is built on the Informatica MDM platform and follows enterprise data governance standards, ensuring that all reference data changes are properly assessed, approved, validated, and documented. The capability is governed by a cross-functional team including the RDM Platform Product Owner, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Platform/System teams, and is sponsored by the Global Head of GTMC Data Management and Head of Global Commercial Data Foundations.

As Sanofi scales its AI-powered commercial capabilities, RDM plays a critical role in enabling trusted, reusable, and interoperable data — reducing duplication, maximizing data quality, and accelerating time-to-insight for business stakeholders worldwide.

Main Responsibilities

Hands-On Data Analysis & Codelist Management

  • Query, profile, and analyze commercial reference data and codelists using SQL to answer business questions, validate data quality, and identify inconsistencies or risks
  • Maintain and manage commercial codelists, including values, definitions, attributes, mappings, hierarchies, and relationships within the Informatica MDM platform
  • Perform data quality audits and proactively flag data issues, duplications, or structural problems that may impact downstream consumers
  • Develop strong working knowledge of commercial reference data domains (markets, products, customers, organizational hierarchies) and their definitions, structures, and interdependencies

Requirements Translation & Impact Assessment

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, Data Owners, and Data Stewards to understand and translate business requirements into clear RDM, data, and codelist requirements
  • Assess the business and functional impact of reference data changes, including effects on downstream consumers, integrations, Snowflake data shares, views, and synchronization processes
  • Support analysis of RDM-to-Snowflake data flows and proactively flag potential impacts to Platform, System, and Data teams
  • Coordinate with the RDM Platform Product Owner and technical teams to understand platform capabilities, dependencies, and constraints

End-to-End Change Coordination & Validation

  • Coordinate RDM changes end-to-end, from requirement clarification and technical scoping through implementation, UAT, validation, and confirmation of outcomes after deployment
  • Define and execute test cases (UAT) to validate that codelist changes meet functional and business requirements before production deployment
  • Ensure required business and data governance approvals are obtained and documented before changes are implemented
  • Support UAT and data validation activities, engaging business and technical stakeholders as needed

Data Governance, Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all RDM data is managed and analyzed in compliance with applicable Data Privacy, GxP, SOX, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation for codelists, including definitions, ownership, mappings, dependencies, change history, and required approvals
  • Coordinate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to ensure data governance responsibilities are clear and upheld
  • Support enterprise data governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement of RDM data quality and standards

Reporting, Access Management & Support

  • Maintain and support existing Power BI reports, including basic synchronization, refresh activities, and troubleshooting
  • Manage access requests for commercial codelists, RDM data, and related Power BI reports, coordinating with Platform/System or Access teams as required
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting of reporting and access issues; escalate to the appropriate technical team when required

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain Jira records for assigned activities, including scope, estimates, status, dependencies, risks, blockers, and ETAs; proactively communicate progress and issues
  • Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Data Owners, Data Stewards, Business, Platform, System, and Data teams in an Agile environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of RDM processes, data quality, documentation, and ways of working
  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned activities and proactively raise risks, blockers, or dependencies that may impact delivery
