Schneider Electric Manufacturing

Functional Lead – SAP S/4HANA MM (Materials Management)

Mexico City, Mexico +6 Hybrid Full-time
  • Hybrid work model – Nashville, TN (preferred), [other US hubs], Monterrey or Mexico City, MX | Travel: 25–50%
  • Ready to help transform how a global leader in energy management buys, stores and delivers?
  • Schneider Electric is running a large S/4HANA transformation across our North American manufacturing and distribution sites, with major rollouts starting in 2027.
  • We're adding an SAP MM Functional Lead to own procure-to-pay and inventory management, help deliver site go-lives and act as the link between our business teams and our global delivery team.
  • This role is for an experienced SAP MM professional who has been through several go-lives and can contribute from day one.
  • What will you do?
  • Lead the SAP MM workstream in our S/4HANA program. You'll report to the Technical Product Manager for Planning, Procurement & Manufacturing and work day to day with Technical Product Owners.
  • Design, configure and optimize procure-to-pay processes: purchase requisitions, RFQs and purchase orders (standard, subcontracting, consignment, STO), contracts, scheduling agreements, release strategies and flexible workflows.
  • Own inventory management: goods receipts and issues, transfer postings, reservations, physical inventory, material valuation, split valuation and account determination.
  • Connect planning to purchasing: turn MRP proposals into POs and schedule lines, and optimize lot sizes, safety stock and lead times so production has what it needs.
  • Act as the onshore link with our global delivery team in Bangalore: lead business discussions with plants and distribution centers, capture actions and requirements, configure in the system and hand work off for offshore execution.
  • Ensure smooth integration between MM and PP, FI/CO, SD, QM and EWM/WM, and understand how S/4HANA decisions affect external platforms (SAP Ariba, Coupa, supplier EDI, 3PL, SAP MDG).
  • Drive testing: take part in integration and quality testing, usually about two months before go-live. You'll work with business analysts and product owners, train users and resolve issues quickly.
  • Deliver site deployments end to end: data migration, cutover, on-site go-live support and hypercare, typically covering 2–3 site deployments.
  • Standardize, govern and automate procurement and inventory processes across sites using SAP best practices, design reviews and automation.
  • Work in Agile/SAFe teams with Product Owners and business stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap, define requirements and drive adoption.
  • What are the key skills we are looking for?
  • 10+ years of SAP functional experience in Materials Management (MM)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Procurement and Inventory Management
  • At least 2 full-cycle SAP implementations (S/4HANA strongly preferred), including go-live and hypercare
  • Experience in discrete manufacturing, such as electrical equipment, automotive or industrial products
  • Strong experience with end-to-end procure-to-pay integrated with MRP and SAP PP
  • Deep knowledge of purchasing, source determination, inventory valuation, invoice verification and MRP
  • Experience with material master, Business Partner (supplier) data, EDI/IDoc and FI/CO integration
  • Ability to produce functional specifications, integration mappings and test scripts
  • Strong stakeholder management and experience working with onshore/offshore teams
  • Willingness to travel 25–50%, including extended on-site stays and weekend work during go-lives
