Schroders Finance/FinTech

Engineering Lead - Intergration

London, United Kingdom In person Full-time

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a hands-on Integration Engineering Lead to set direction and lead delivery across core banking and its related satellites. You will build the Wealth-owned integration capability, establish pragmatic engineering standards and remain close enough to delivery to design, build and resolve complex interfaces yourself.

Your initial priority will be Nova: integrating Temenos Transact with Aladdin, Salesforce, Snowflake and specialist banking platforms. The remit extends beyond Nova to the wider core-banking estate, including payments, financial crime, lending, transaction and regulatory reporting, reference data, reconciliation and legacy T24 interfaces. You will lead internal engineers and partners while retaining clear Wealth ownership of design, build quality and operational outcomes.

About Cazenove Capital

Cazenove Capital is the wealth management business of Schroders. We support private individuals, families, charities, family offices and institutions with investment management, wealth planning, banking and related services.

The opportunity in Wealth Technology

Wealth is moving from a fragmented, heavily customised core-banking estate to a core-and-satellite architecture. Nova combines Temenos as the core banking platform, Aladdin for portfolio management and trading, Backbase for client and adviser journeys, Salesforce for client context, Snowflake for trusted data products, and specialist platforms for capabilities such as lending and planning.

The integration challenge is central to the outcome. Core records, cash, transactions, positions, client data and banking events must move securely and reliably across platforms, through reusable APIs, events and governed data products. The role will establish patterns that support Nova’s transition from T24 to Temenos SaaS, can be re-pointed as satellites evolve, and remain usable across the Wealth estate after the programme completes.

The team

You will join Wealth Technology and lead integration engineering across the Core Banking and Wealth Satellites domain. Working with product, architecture, data, operations and control teams, you will set direction, lead internal engineers and delivery partners, and be accountable for interfaces moving safely into production and support.

What you'll do

  • Set and deliver the integration engineering direction for core banking and related satellites, with Nova as the initial priority and patterns designed for reuse across Wealth.
  • Own the Wealth integration layer and the end-to-end quality of interfaces across Temenos, Aladdin, Salesforce, Snowflake and specialist platforms.
  • Lead the design and build of secure APIs, events, data flows and controls covering cash, transactions, positions, client and account data, payments and banking events.
  • Create standards for contracts, canonical models, error handling, reconciliation, testing, deployment, observability, performance and support; assure that partners follow them.
  • Direct engineers and implementation partners while remaining hands-on in solution design, code, technical spikes, reviews and resolution of complex production issues.
  • Manage transition patterns between legacy T24 and Temenos SaaS, including coexistence, cutover, regression and the re-pointing of satellite integrations without avoidable technical debt.
  • Extend the capability across payments, financial crime, lending, transaction and regulatory reporting, reference data, reconciliation and operational remediation beyond Nova.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Proven experience leading integration engineering for core banking or another high-volume, highly controlled transaction platform; direct Temenos Transact or T24 experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on engineering depth across REST APIs, event-driven and messaging patterns, batch integration, data transformation and service development using Java, C#, Python or comparable technologies.
  • Good understanding of banking domains including client and account masters, cash and payments, ledger postings, financial crime, lending, transaction reporting, reconciliation and reference data.
  • Experience integrating SaaS platforms with cloud and legacy systems, including authentication, secrets, resilience, idempotency, audit, data lineage, monitoring and operational controls.
  • A strong record of leading engineers and suppliers through design, build, test, migration, cutover and production support while retaining accountable internal ownership.
  • Ability to turn business processes and platform boundaries into clear interface contracts, make sound architectural trade-offs and challenge designs that create fragility, duplication or vendor dependency.

What you'll be like

  • A credible integration leader who can set architecture and engineering direction, then get into the code and delivery detail when needed.
  • Clear on ownership and standards, able to coordinate multiple platforms and suppliers without allowing accountability to become diluted.
  • Pragmatic and outcome-led, balancing delivery pace with transaction integrity, resilience, control and long-term supportability.
  • Able to develop engineers, challenge constructively and communicate complex integration decisions clearly to technical and senior stakeholders.
