Position Summary

We are looking for a Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our Threat Intelligence Unit (TIU), within the Global Intelligence Team (GIT). Reporting to the Lead Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality intelligence products, supporting team operations, managing junior analysts, and developing new intelligence capabilities.

You will be responsible for overseeing the quality and timely delivery of intelligence reporting, managing tailored client requirements, and supporting the development of standing and bespoke intelligence products.

As the Principal Analyst will act as a key point of contact for clients, supporting intelligence scoping calls, delivering briefings, and developing intelligence collection plans for new and existing products. The role also carries line management responsibilities for junior analysts and requires the ability to assume operational leadership of the TIU in the absence of the Lead Threat Intelligence Analyst.

The Threat Intelligence Unit is required to operate out of hours, depending on clients' needs, up to and including a 24/7 commitment. Therefore, you must be flexible to work on weekends, public holidays, and night shifts as required.

This role will require occasional travel to the office for training, events, or administrative purposes.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Produce, review, and deliver high-quality intelligence products, ensuring analytical accuracy, editorial consistency, and timely dissemination in accordance with client requirements and established standards.

Provide editorial oversight and quality assurance for intelligence reporting, offering constructive feedback and guidance to junior analysts on writing, analytical methodologies, and product standards.

Develop and implement intelligence collection plans for new and existing products, identifying appropriate sources, monitoring methodologies, and tools to meet client intelligence requirements.

Support the development and improvement of standing and bespoke intelligence products, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and intelligence workflows.

Deliver training and guidance to analysts on TIU products, OSINT methodologies, intelligence monitoring platforms, and analytical tools, ensuring consistent standards and effective use of team capabilities.

Conduct advanced OSINT research, including social media, deep and dark web monitoring, using internal databases and specialist intelligence platforms to identify, verify, and assess threats.

Support the prioritisation and allocation of team workloads, ensuring the timely delivery of intelligence products and effective responses to emerging incidents, urgent client requests, and surge requirements.

Collaborate with other Sibylline teams to share best practices, support cross-functional intelligence projects, and contribute to the continued development of intelligence capabilities and tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills, with the ability to produce and review clear, accurate, and actionable intelligence reporting.

Strong knowledge of OSINT methodologies, geopolitical developments, and intelligence monitoring tools, including source identification, verification, social media monitoring, and the assessment of information from a range of open sources.

Comprehensive understanding of geopolitical and international security developments, with the ability to assess emerging threats and their implications for commercial organisations.

Proficiency in intelligence monitoring platforms, social media monitoring software, mass notification systems, and data analysis and visualisation tools.

Strong organisational and operational management skills, including the ability to prioritise competing requirements and make informed decisions under pressure in a 24/7 intelligence environment.

Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with the capability to provide constructive feedback, support junior analysts, and coordinate team activities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients, deliver intelligence briefings, and translate complex intelligence findings into clear assessments.

Ability to train and guide analysts in the effective use of intelligence tools, analytical techniques, and established reporting standards.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent analytical and editorial standards across multiple intelligence products.

Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to improvements in team processes, intelligence capabilities, and client service delivery.

Bachelor's degree in Security Studies, International Relations, War Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum two years of experience in threat intelligence, geopolitical analysis, security operations, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in mentoring, training, or supervising other analysts.

Demonstrated experience using OSINT methodologies and intelligence monitoring tools to research, assess, and report on geopolitical developments and security threats.

Experience developing intelligence products, supporting client engagements, and contributing to the improvement of intelligence collection and reporting processes.

Strong professional or academic knowledge of international security issues, with expertise in at least one major geographical region (Americas, Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific, or Europe & Eurasia).

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as operational needs dictate. Schedule may include rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities to ensure continuous coverage.
