We're growing! We’re looking for an experienced, business-savvy and driven candidate to join our Development team for the position of Divisional Controller located at our office in Guelph, ON.
Compensation: Starting at $130,000.00 annually plus bonus.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you'll be a key financial leader responsible for organizing and managing daily and ongoing financial functions for Skydevco Inc. From monthly to year-end reporting, your work will help shape and sustain the integrity of our organization. You’ll also take the lead in developing and implementing best practices, policies, and procedures that keep our finances as solid as our foundations. This is an in-office position (because we still believe in building relationships face-to-face).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions for the Skydevco Portfolio.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for properties under management by Skydevco.
- Performing cash management functions, including cash flow analysis and contribution to corporate cash management.
- Planning, coordinating and directing the annual budget process.
- Assisting in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies and procedures, forms, and manuals.
- Providing necessary information to the Vice President of Finance and the President, Skydevco that is vital to the company’s decision-making process.
What You Bring
- You have exceptional accounting and finance skills, with a deep understanding of theory, principles, and practical application. You can “connect the dots” in complex data and turn insights into smart recommendations.
- You understand that leadership is about serving, not being served — and you lead with empathy, emotional intelligence, and genuine care for your team.
- You can translate financial jargon into business English (or vice versa) and work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- You're a trusted business partner who knows how to collaborate with internal leaders to maintain financial accuracy and provide strategic insight.
- You have a strong knowledge of forecasting, cash flow, budgets, tax filing, and amortization schedules.
- You either have previous experience with Yardi, or you're a quick learner that can adopt to new software with ease.
- You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with minimum eight years of progressive professional accounting experience, including previous supervisory experience.
- You are CPA designated (this is required).
- Previous experience in construction, development, real estate, or related organization is strongly preferred.
Why You'll Love It Here
- You take pride in owning full-cycle accounting processes and leading a high-performing team — and you want to work for an organization that gives you the autonomy to make an impact.
- You want a leadership role that will allow you to showcase your ability to multitask like a pro, stay calm under pressure, and never let deadlines rattle you.
- You're looking to lead an engaging team that is passionate about what they do and genuinely enjoying showing up everyday to work together.
- You’re eager to work for an organization that is fast moving and progressive.
- You care about working for a company that walks the talk on sustainability, community impact, and doing business the right way.
- You value work-life balance and want to be part of a culture where your well-being and fulfillment matter just as much as your results.
