We're looking for a Sr. Data Engineer with experience with large scale enterprise data platforms for a government agency located in the Washington DC metro area. This is a remote position; however, staff may be required to report onsite periodically based on client and business requirements. Position is contingent upon contract award.
Overview: Establishes enterprise data pipelines and high-availability structures to modernize a government agency's mission-critical data stores into Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASOTs).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize secure ETL/ELT pipelines streaming complex maritime operational data into AWS GovCloud/Azure Government spaces.
- Implement enterprise data fabric architectures enabling unified discovery across 11 distinct operational
networks.
- Transition brittle legacy systems into modern cloud-native lakehouse repositories optimized for downstream
AI ingestion.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of dedicated data engineering experience utilizing Apache Spark, Kafka, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory.
- Strong command of cloud-native infrastructure automation within Department of Defense (DoD) or DHS Impact Level (IL) 4/5 environments.
- Active IAM Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP) highly preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation prior to starting work and maintain eligibility throughout the engagement.
- Salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $180,000.00
- Work Authorization: Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
