The Commercial Manager – Legal & Contracts plays a key role in ensuring there are no gaps between the legal function and tendering teams by providing commercial, contractual and practical project risk assessment throughout the tender and pre-contract phases. • Support tender reviews and pre-contract activities through the assessment of project scopes, schedules, pricing models and technical information, providing recommendations on commercial, contractual and project delivery risks.
  • Provide commercial and contractual guidance to project teams and senior management throughout the tender and project lifecycle, including support with claims, contract administration, contractual correspondence and dispute resolution matters.
  • Support senior management in commercial decision-making, contractual policy matters and governance activities, including maintaining contract review documentation and preparing reports and presentations for senior management and VINCI stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors while contributing to the continuous improvement of contract administration processes, systems and governance frameworks.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and support to junior commercial and contracts team members, assisting in the development of their technical and professional capabilities.
  • To be considered for this role, you will ideally possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Contract Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Commercial Manager, Pre-Contracts Manager or similar senior commercial role within the construction, infrastructure, energy or resources sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial risk management principles.
  • Understanding of project risks associated with pipeline or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience interpreting project programs and an understanding of project scheduling principles.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and mitigate contractual and construction-related risks.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software.
  • Knowledge of construction insurance requirements will be highly regarded.
