Portfolio Manager

The Portfolio Manager III works in partnership with commercial lenders, market presidents, and leadership for the Bank’s commercial lending division. This position oversees and coordinates all aspects of a commercial loan portfolio, including underwriting, analysis, past dues, and exceptions. The Portfolio Manager III is expected to manage a portfolio of up to 200M.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in underwriting of commercial loans and preparation of loan packages.
• Ensures commercial loans comply with the Bank’s commercial lending policies.
• Assists in timely gathering of appropriate financial data, monitoring, clearing of loan covenants, and loan exceptions.
• Informs commercial lenders and senior management of financial trends within the commercial loan portfolio.
• Manages assigned client relationships within the commercial banking loan portfolio.
• Assists with monitoring of credit quality, financial analysis, loan extensions, and cross-selling of other Bank products.
• Exercises awareness regarding possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department.
• Performs all job functions in compliance with Bank policies, federal, state, and local laws, and all regulations applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or accounting, or 3-5 years’ equivalent work experience, required.

7+ years’ experience in commercial lending, asset management, or commercial loan underwriting, required.

• Advanced knowledge of complex commercial loan structures.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and analysis skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Jack Henry, ABRIGO, and construction management software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
