Overview
About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Systematic Delta One desk, where engineers, researchers, and traders work side-by-side to develop scalable, fully automated trading strategies across liquid global products and venues. Susquehanna buys data from a wide range of sources - credit card panels, web-scraped product prices, call transcripts - and none of it arrives ready to use. Your job is to turn them into datasets that our researchers can trust.
How You’ll Make an Impact
You will partner closely with our modelers and traders to understand their needs, evaluate new datasets, and build the pipelines that ingest and normalize external data. Vendors restate history, remap identifiers, and document things wrong; you will dig into what the data actually says and get it into a shape that research can build on. Along the way, you will help design the tools and infrastructure that you and others use to work with it.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience building Python data applications or pipelines
- Experience processing and investigating large third-party datasets
- Strong SQL experience and familiarity with tools such as Pandas, Polars, Parquet, Arrow, or DuckDB
- Able to translate evolving research ideas into reliable datasets and tools
- Curious, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering or related field
