About the Role

SymphonyAI is looking for a Senior Vice President of Engineering to lead the technology organization behind our Retail AI portfolio. You will own the engineering strategy, platform architecture, and delivery of products that help grocery, CPG, and retail enterprises plan, forecast, and run their supply chains with AI.

This is a scale-up role. Our Retail products have a strong legacy base, and the next phase is to evolve them into modern, cloud-native, AI-first platforms without disrupting the customers who rely on them today. You will balance that modernization with the reliability and trust that enterprise retail clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the engineering vision and roadmap for the Retail vertical, aligned with product and business priorities.
  • Lead the modernization of legacy products into scalable, evolved platforms, including migration strategy, architecture decisions, and technical debt reduction.
  • Build, lead, and grow multi-disciplinary engineering teams across development, data science, ML/AI, QA, DevOps, and platform engineering.
  • Own the AI and machine learning technology stack for demand forecasting, replenishment, inventory optimization, and related supply chain use cases.
  • Establish engineering processes, quality standards, release management, and operational excellence (SLAs, security, reliability, and cost management).
  • Partner closely with Product Management, Customer Success, and Professional Services to translate customer needs into delivered capability.
  • Make sound build-versus-buy and architecture decisions, and communicate them clearly to executive leadership and the board.
  • Attract, develop, and retain senior technical talent in a competitive Paris market, and build a strong engineering culture.
  • Manage the engineering budget, vendor relationships, and headcount planning for the vertical.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles (VP, SVP, or CTO level, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record of leading engineering organizations of 100+ people, including distributed or multi-site teams.
  • Direct experience in grocery, CPG, or retail technology, with a strong understanding of supply chain management, planning, and merchandising domains.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling or modernizing a legacy enterprise software product into a modern, cloud-based platform.
  • Hands-on understanding of AI and machine learning in production, including MLOps and the practical realities of deploying models at enterprise scale.
  • Strong architecture background in SaaS, microservices, data platforms, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience leading through organizational change, including integrations, restructurings, or post-merger environments.
  • Excellent executive communication skills in English. French is strongly preferred given the Paris-based role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting firms or product companies, or a background that combines both.
  • Prior work with enterprise SaaS vendors serving global retailers or CPG manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with generative AI and agentic AI applications in enterprise workflows.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, global organization spanning EMEA, APAC, and AMER.

What We Offer

  • A leadership role with visible impact on a global Retail AI business.
  • The opportunity to shape the next generation of SymphonyAI's supply chain products.
  • A hybrid work environment based in Paris, with international collaboration.
  • Competitive compensation, equity participation, and benefits aligned with senior executive roles in France.
