Location: São Paulo, Brazil
The person in this role will be responsible for leading the regional Cloud fraud and consumption abuse prevention, detection, response, and mitigation program across Latin America, protecting the company and its partners from operational and financial risks associated with unauthorized or fraudulent Cloud consumption.
The primary objective of the role is to evolve toward a proactive model based on data, automation, and continuous monitoring, capable of identifying abnormal behaviors as early as possible, coordinating rapid containment actions, and reducing financial exposure.
This role will act as the regional owner of the end-to-end process, connecting Cloud, IT, CloudOps, Security/SOC, Credit, Finance, Sales, and Corporate Security teams, as well as the major hyperscalers.
Specific Focus of the Role
Lead the end-to-end Cloud Fraud Prevention & Risk Mitigation process across Latin America.
Develop preventive controls and early detection mechanisms for abnormal or potentially fraudulent Cloud consumption.
Define risk indicators, rules, thresholds, and monitoring models considering different vendors, countries, partners, and consumption profiles.
Coordinate triage, escalation, containment, investigation, recovery, and remediation processes.
Leverage data, automation, and AI/ML to improve alert detection, classification, and prioritization.
Reduce false positives and accelerate the identification and containment of high-impact incidents.
Promote controls and best practices in collaboration with hyperscalers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Act as the regional owner of the Cloud consumption fraud prevention and mitigation program, ensuring appropriate governance, processes, controls, metrics, and reporting.
- Design and maintain the end-to-end process: Prevent → Detect → Triage → Contain → Investigate → Recover → Remediate → Learn.
- Identify and monitor key risk vectors, including compromised accounts, exposed credentials, fraudulent identities, crypto-mining, abnormal GPU/AI consumption, unusual Marketplace activity, and unexpected consumption spikes.
- Define detection models using consumption indicators, historical behavior, financial exposure, credit information, and other relevant signals.
- Implement structured mechanisms to classify and prioritize alerts based on severity, risk, and potential financial impact.
- Coordinate response and containment actions with CloudOps, IT, Security/SOC, Credit, Finance, Sales, Corporate Security, and Cloud vendors.
- Define rapid escalation processes for critical incidents, reducing response time and dependency on ad hoc processes.
- Partner with Technology, Data, and AI teams to implement anomaly detection, alert classification, automation, and preventive capabilities.
- Conduct periodic reviews of controls, rules, thresholds, and procedures to ensure their continued effectiveness.
- Perform root cause analysis for confirmed incidents and ensure lessons learned are translated into new controls or process improvements.
- Maintain a structured case management and reporting process covering incidents, financial exposure, actions taken, recovery, and outcomes.
- Represent Latin America in global initiatives and workstreams with hyperscalers related to Cloud fraud prevention and consumption abuse.

Expected Profile
We are looking for a hybrid profile combining Cloud + Fraud/Risk + Data + Incident Management + Business, with the ability to understand both the technical aspects of Cloud environments and the financial exposure associated with Cloud consumption.
The mission of this position is
Prevent → Detect Earlier → Contain Faster → Reduce Exposure → Learn → Automate
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to identify risks early, reduce detection and containment times, minimize financial losses, and continuously strengthen Cloud fraud prevention controls across Latin America.
