Tesla Manufacturing

Staff Supply Chain Manager, Indirect Procurement (m/w/d) - Gigafactory Berlin Brandenburg

Grünheide, Germany In person Full-time

Tesla was founded in 2003 with the goal of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy and protecting the planet Earth. Through solar energy, batteries, and electric vehicles, we are building a world of amazing abundance. At Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, we manufacture the Model Y, and starting in 2027, we’ll produce everything from battery cells to electric vehicles. This is unique in Europe. Our international team consists of over 12,000 employees from 130 countries.

We hire talent at all skill levels - prior experience in the automotive industry is not required. Would you like to help write the next chapter in Tesla’s success story and work at one of Germany’s most modern workplaces? Then this is the right place for you! Tesla's EMEA Supply Chain organization is hiring a Staff Supply Chain Manager to own plant, technical, and operations indirect procurement for GFBB, reporting to the Group Manager, Indirect Procurement.

You will lead a team of buyers and own the strategic buying for non-production capital expenditure (CAPEX), maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) services, test equipment, waste management, industrial services, maintenance, personal protective equipment (PPE), and consumables. You lead that team, and you are accountable for the goods and services the buyers source to keep the factory running. You set the way the team works, provide support to sustain performance, and improve supplier relationships to drive the commercial outcome to ensure Tesla sources it needs.

The successful candidate has a track record of leading buyers, running complex tenders, and executing under pressure in a fast, high-growth environment. Lead, develop, and hold the buyers accountable for performance across non-production capital expenditure (CAPEX), maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) services, test equipment, waste management, industrial services, maintenance, personal protective equipment (PPE), and consumables.

Develop buyers into commodity leaders and run a tight, high-output team. Execute commodity strategy for plant, technical, and operations procurement: market intelligence, should-cost, scale buys, dual-source and localization, supplier rationalization, and make versus buy. Own end-to-end sourcing outcomes: negotiation, RFx, supplier performance, risk, and contract lifecycle. Ensure the assigned programs stay under control as the factory scales.

Move work when a category spikes or a supplier fails, so the scope stays covered in time for need. Negotiate terms, consolidate volume, identify cost-out, and put buying practices in place that protect quality and delivery. Drive best value for Tesla. Set the team up to own supplier capacity and crisis response so the factory keeps running. Partner with Gigafactory operations, maintenance, engineering, and EHS, and security so agreements stay aligned with the factory's growth.

Keep the teams scope compliant and auditable: policy, governance, contract lifecycle, and a risk register. Keep the factory contracts ahead of market and regulatory disruptions. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5+ years in procurement or supply management, including commodity ownership in plant, technical, or operations procurement and time leading buyers. A record of leading buyers, and of running a dynamic team.

A record of complex market tenders, high-value negotiation, supplier performance, and turnarounds in a fast operational environment. Demonstrated crisis management: shortages, escalations, and service recovery under time pressure, without stopping production. Commercial and analytical skill: total cost of ownership, should-cost, negotiation, and decisions from the data. Experience executing buying strategy for plant, technical, and operations procurement at a large manufacturing site.

Fluent English. Additional languages are a plus. Bias for action. You set a vision and you execute it. Comfortable in a fast, unstructured, high-growth environment. Not only do we offer you an attractive compensation package, but also access to a wide range of perks and benefits. For example: · Our own medical center, a gym and an in-house barbershop. · E-bike charging stations in front of the factory, more than 500 free charging stations for electric cars, a bike leasing program, free use of the nextbike bike-sharing fleet, as well as numerous free shuttle bus routes to Grünheide and the surrounding areas. · You’ll receive subsidized canteen meals, a free S-membership at the Urban Sports Club (discount from M+) and you can sign up for many language courses. · We also offer all employees a wide range of insurance options, such as a company pension plan, as well as discounts on private insurance and legal protection insurance.

These and many other benefits await you. Join Tesla and help us build a world of amazing abundance. Candidates are expected to uphold and actively promote sustainability principles in their daily work, operating in line with Tesla Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Policy and EMAS requirements, fostering a culture of continuous environmental improvement.
