Tesla Manufacturing

Demand Generation Manager, Performance, Content Marketing & New Initiatives (12 Month Contract)

Alexandria, Australia In person Contract

Tesla's mission is to build a world of amazing abundance. The Residential Energy Demand Generation and Marketing team plays a critical role in this mission by driving awareness and adoption of Tesla's energy products. We are looking for a Demand Generation Manager based in Melbourne (will consider Sydney or Brisbane for the right candidate) to own performance marketing, content marketing, and new initiatives across Australia and New Zealand, and to support other APAC markets when needed.

This is a 12 month contract initially, covering maternity leave. However long term opportunity is likely to arise due to ongoing growth. You will build and execute a full-funnel program that grows awareness and consideration of Tesla's residential energy products with new audiences and existing customers, and delivers leads to our channel partners. This role reports to the Demand Generation Lead, Residential Energy, APAC and works closely with sales, global analytics, design, content, and agency partners.

To succeed, you must be organized, data-driven, and comfortable working with tight deadlines and incomplete briefs. You should have a passion for sustainable energy, a strong ownership mentality, and the judgment to represent the brand at a high standard. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can find an opportunity and execute it while managing competing priorities. You will work with stakeholders across sales, engineering, design, copywriting, legal, operations, the ANZ vehicle team, and the global energy marketing team.

Own the development, execution, and optimization of performance marketing across Australia and New Zealand, including paid search, YouTube, and new channels as they come online, working with the global analytics team on insights, reporting, and optimization. Own the ANZ content marketing strategy, from owned content through paid collaborations, aligned to the APAC content strategy and consistent across channels. Partner with marketing colleagues so content is amplified through owned social and email.

Work with external paid media and content partners to deliver awareness, education, and conversion, and support the Demand Generation Lead in managing those agencies. Work with sales to find and develop third-party partnerships, and with the marketing counterparts to amplify those opportunities through events, keynotes, and activations. Lead ecosystem marketing with the ANZ vehicle team, along with small business, collaboration, and influencer programs, so messaging holds from upper-funnel activity through lower-funnel performance.

Monitor, track, and report on campaigns and always-on activity against ROI and KPI targets, including weekly performance reporting. Manage the approved budget so quarterly plans are delivered in full and meet the defined business objectives, and ensure brand guidelines are maintained across all channels. 5+ years of hands-on experience in demand generation, performance marketing, or content marketing, with a digital background and Google Ads experience.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Management, or a related field, or evidence of exceptional ability. Ability to see the bigger picture, define the problem, and execute campaigns that drive awareness, consideration, and conversion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and Google Analytics, and a natural curiosity to uncover data and insights. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build relationships across sales, engineering, legal, design, copywriting, operations, vehicle, and global energy marketing teams.

Ability to develop unconventional ideas and see them through, including ways to expand reach that are not just more media spend. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with limited supervision. Renewable energy experience is a plus, but not required. Fluent in English, with other regional language skills a plus. Willingness to travel up to 25%, mainly within Australia, with occasional travel across APAC.
