Tesla Manufacturing

UX Engineer, Powertrain

Greece In person Full-time

At Tesla, our mission is to build a world of amazing abundance. We're building cutting-edge systems across electric vehicles, energy and humanoid robotics to make that future real. We're looking for a highly motivated UX engineer with a strong eye for design and solid frontend skills to join a team building the next generation of engineering tools that support the development of actuators in Optimus and electric motors in our vehicles.

Our applications are used by engineers across a wide range of workflows, from dashboards and data visualization to tools that manage, track and analyze engineering data. They're often complex and data-dense, but we hold them to a high bar: a first-time user should be able to find their way without asking for help. You'll own the user experience and visual consistency across a growing suite of apps, building the design system, patterns and guidelines that empower every engineer on the team to ship polished, consistent UI.

Own and evolve a shared design system (design tokens, reusable React components, Figma libraries and documentation) used across multiple web and desktop applications. Define and document UI patterns for data-heavy interfaces, including tables, filters, charts, forms and loading/empty/error states. Leverage AI-powered design and coding tools to accelerate iteration, while maintaining full ownership of design quality, consistency and long-term maintainability.

Establish consistent visual language, terminology and wording across apps, so each tool keeps its own character while clearly belonging to the same family. Lead the design of new applications and interaction patterns, from early exploration in Figma to production-ready, pixel-accurate implementation. Collaborate with engineers, domain experts and the full-stack engineers on the team to understand user workflows, run usability sessions and turn feedback into intuitive interfaces.

Lead recurring UI reviews, and turn findings into lasting improvements in the design system rather than one-off fixes. Champion UI quality through frontend code reviews, visual regression testing and clear documentation. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience A portfolio showing complex, data-dense interfaces (dashboards, internal tools, technical or B2B products), including your design process and shipped results Proven experience building or maintaining a design system, in both design tools and code Proficiency in Figma (component libraries, variants, auto-layout, prototyping) Production-level HTML and CSS, and strong working knowledge of React and TypeScript: you can turn a design into a polished, responsive and accessible component Strong grasp of visual design fundamentals: typography, color, spacing, hierarchy and layout Experience with Git and Agile/Scrum development workflows Fluent in English, with strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to explain design decisions clearly to engineers Bonus qualifications Experience designing data visualizations and working with charting libraries Experience with Storybook, Next.js, or desktop application frameworks such as Tauri or Electron Familiarity with usability testing methods and user research Interest in engineering or technical domains; prior experience building tools for engineers or scientists is a plus
