About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trade Investment Manager Benelux to join our GBS organization, reporting into the functional lead and dotted line reporting into the Benelux CFO as part of the Benelux finance team.
You will own the Trade Investment results for Benelux, ensuring that our customer investments are accurately accounted for and reflected in our actual results. You will be accountable for maintaining a true and fair view of the customer balance sheet and P&L, supported by strong controls, clear business explanations and timely action plans.
Working closely with Sales, Sales Finance, RGM and our GBS partners, you will turn Trade Investment information into meaningful visibility and decisions. You will win through your team by setting clear direction, building capability and creating opportunities for people to develop and grow. A key part of the role is moving the team beyond transactional delivery by improving D&A (Deals & Allowances - our investments with customers) transparency, cash performance and working-capital understanding across the business.
Your Responsibilities
Own the results and financial control
- Take end-to-end ownership of Benelux Trade Investment results, including customer accruals, provisions, pricing, deductions, claims and related P&L impacts.
- Ensure customer balance-sheet positions and P&L costs provide a complete, accurate and true reflection of the business.
- Lead month-end and control routines, identifying potential over- or under-accruals and ensuring risks, opportunities and corrective actions are visible.
- Ensure customer agreements, pricing and promotional investments are correctly translated into our systems and reconciled against actual customer activity.
- Maintain strong governance and control standards, supporting internal and external audit requirements.
Drive cash and D&A visibility
- Provide clear and actionable insights into D&A investment by customer, investment type and business driver, enabling better commercial decisions.
- Partner with Sales and Finance to strengthen cash and working-capital considerations in customer negotiations and commercial decision-making.
- Drive improvements in overdue receivables, aged deductions, invalid claims and balance-sheet exposure, working closely with GBS and the wider Invoice-to-Cash organisation.
- Build cash acumen across the business and translate working-capital performance into clear root causes, priorities and actions.
Lead people, partner and improve
- Win through the Benelux TI team by setting clear direction, priorities and accountability, while creating a strong one-team culture with the extended GBS organisation.
- Coach and develop team members through regular feedback, purposeful delegation and development opportunities, helping them grow their capability and careers.
- Act as the Trade Investment business partner to senior Sales and Finance stakeholders, providing an objective financial perspective and constructively challenging where required.
- Anticipate issues, escalate risks early and mobilise the right stakeholders to resolve them.
- Simplify and standardise processes, controls and reporting, using automation and continuous improvement to release capacity for higher-value analysis and business partnering.
- Translate the regional TI strategy and roadmap into clear Benelux priorities while sharing best practices across countries.
About you
- Strong finance background with experience in commercial finance, financial control, accounting, Trade Investment or Invoice to Cash. Approximately 6–8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Sound understanding of balance-sheet management, customer P&Ls, accruals, accounts receivable and commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to win through others, develop talent, own results and influence senior cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analytical and commercially curious, with the ability to turn complex financial information into clear insights and actions.
- Hands-on, results-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Proficient in English; Benelux language capability would be an advantage.
- Experience with SAP, Trade Promotion Management tools and advanced Excel would be beneficial.
