T-Mobile has an exciting opportunity for a bright, pragmatic, “business first” transactional generalist attorney to join our team and help get stuff done. This role supports enterprise procurement transactions across the company, with a particular focus on Finance operations, including Finance, Credit Risk, Fraud, Collections Decisioning Infrastructure, and Payments.

This attorney will be a capable transactional generalist with demonstrated competence in technology licensing and SaaS and data products: able to take on a wide range of enterprise procurement agreements, including multiple types of professional services, and to move quickly between categories, suppliers and business models. Support for Finance operations will be a core and constant part of the portfolio. In Finance operations, this attorney will negotiate agreements with banks, payment providers, credit bureaus and data providers, credit decisioning platform providers, fraud and identity-verification vendors, collections providers and other financial professional-services firms, and will advise stakeholders across Finance, Credit Risk, Fraud, Collections, Payments, Procurement, Privacy, Financial Regulatory, Cybersecurity, Compliance and Third-Party Risk Management.

This role requires a strong commercial negotiator who can independently drive transactions across a broad range of procurement categories, from intake through execution, identify the issues that matter, and turn legal and operational risk into practical recommendations that the business can act on.

Because this portfolio has historically relied on outside counsel and requires broad transactional skill and financial-services fluency, we expect the person in this role to work as a transactional generalist across a broad mix of enterprise procurement agreements, including multiple types of professional services; bring real competence in technology licensing and SaaS and data products; arrive with working knowledge of financial-services, credit reporting, data licensing, fraud and decisioning platform contracting, and payments contracting, and be productive on standard transactions within the first 90 days; lead negotiations on mid-complexity and higher-value transactions with sophisticated counterparties, escalating only novel or enterprise-level risk calls; be a direct, go-to advisor for Finance and Credit leaders within the first year; and supervise outside counsel on defined matters and help bring work in-house where it makes sense.

What you’ll do in your role.

Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, independently managing transactions from intake through negotiation, approval, and execution, including:

Enterprise procurement transactions: master services agreements, statements of work, amendments, order forms, and related documents, including multiple types of professional services (consulting, advisory, managed and outsourced services, staffing, and other specialized services), tailoring terms to the delivery model and risk of each.

Technology licensing and SaaS transactions: software licenses, subscriptions, hosted and cloud services, and data products and data licensing, addressing license scope, IP ownership and rights, usage and data rights (including AI use of data), security and privacy, uptime and support commitments, and pricing and renewal mechanics.

Finance operations transactions with banks and other financial institutions, and commercial card, stored-value, and related payment programs; payment processors, payment service providers, and fintech providers; credit bureaus, data providers and analytics services, credit risk analytics and decisioning providers, and credit rating agencies; fraud-prevention, identity-verification, and authentication providers; collections agencies and technology providers; and auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professional-services firms.

Negotiate key commercial and legal provisions, including indemnification, limitation of liability, warranties and performance commitments, service levels and credits, pricing and payment terms, audit and recordkeeping rights, data use, retention, and ownership (including AI use of data), intellectual property, business continuity, regulatory and compliance obligations, and termination and transition assistance.

Evaluate payment and data flows, data rights, regulatory responsibilities (including FCRA and ECOA), financial exposure, auditability, and operational resilience, and flag when a matter needs specialist regulatory, privacy, cybersecurity, or consumer-protection input.

Move comfortably between categories, learning new suppliers, business models, and risk profiles quickly, and applying templates and playbooks with judgment about when a matter fits and when it does not.

Partner with Procurement sourcing teams from intake through signature, and with the business owners who depend on the work.

Serve as the direct legal advisor of record to assigned business partners, representing Legal Affairs credibly in meetings without a manager present, and turning legal issues into short business decision points: the risk, its likely impact, the available mitigations, and who owns the decision.

Align stakeholders when objectives compete, information is incomplete, or requirements change, and escalate material or novel issues early with a clear, well-framed ask while resolving matters within established legal and corporate risk frameworks.

Manage and supervise outside counsel on assigned matters with clear scopes, budgets, and expectations, and identify matters that can move in-house by building the templates, standards, escalation guidelines, and playbooks that make that possible.

Manage a varied, high-volume portfolio, prioritizing by business impact, complexity, timing, and risk, and use contract lifecycle management tools and data to improve cycle time and flag process friction to your manager rather than working around it.

Use approved AI tools for drafting, research, and administrative work as a normal part of the job, remaining fully accountable for reviewing and validating AI-assisted work before it reaches a client or file.

Share knowledge and contribute to training across the legal team and supported business functions.
