About the Job

You’ll lead a programme of financial efficiency initiatives, helping UKAEA make the best use of its resources. You’ll identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls, increase automation and deliver measurable benefits. Working across Finance and the wider organisation, you’ll turn efficiency ambitions into sustainable improvements.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Streamline processes, reduce duplication and improve services for programmes and divisions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, data quality, controls and reporting.
  • Prepare progress reports covering milestones, benefits, risks, dependencies and decisions.
  • Support the adoption of new processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Ensure improvements maintain financial governance, internal controls, auditability and public-sector compliance.
  • Develop business cases, investment appraisals and spend-to-save proposals where required.
  • Manage and develop direct reports, setting clear priorities and supporting effective delivery.

What You’ll Bring

  • A CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification.
  • A substantial background in finance, business partnering, financial planning, corporate reporting, transformation or continuous improvement.
  • A proven track record of delivering process improvement, efficiency, transformation or change initiatives.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, including interpreting financial and operational information.
  • Previous responsibility for developing delivery plans, managing risks and reporting progress against agreed milestones.
  • A sound understanding of financial governance, internal controls, public funding and value-for-money requirements.

Benefits

  • A salary of £64115
  • Up to 7% corporate performance bonus
