Senior Automation Tester

Location: Bangalore, KA, India

What success looks like in this role

Applies advanced test quality methods, theories and research techniques. Responsible for testing and maintaining web-based custom applications for the organization. Provides application software testing services and technical support typically in a defined project. Tests, debugs, documents, implements test techniques on the product under test. Analyzes requirements and perform tests on integrated application components.

Ensures that test strategy is successfully implemented. Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Provides problem resolution that may be non-standard within defined practices and procedures. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Applies judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Has a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Has in-depth knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Able to apply theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to difficult but conventional assignments. Works independently within an established framework.

Under moderate supervision, conducts a wide range of quality-control tests and analyzes results to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.

Creates test cases/scripts and executes test cases/scripts.

Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and various tools (defect management tools and application life cycle, tools needed in the project)

Logs defects with clear detail and supporting attachments. Documents defects and generate Test Metrics. Tracks defects to resolution.

Maintains test cases/scripts and data for assigned scenarios.

Meets design and execution benchmarks.

Participates in peer reviews, test planning, and reporting.

Adheres to testing policy and guidelines and understands the relevant tools and technologies defined for the project.

Supports the implementation of Testing Lifecycle Management best practices and automation.

Primarily interfaces with the Test Lead and also coordinates with different teams for project specific information & guidance

Provides technical presentations to the stake holders.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the related field preferred.

5+ years of Testing experience within the IT Industry.

Experience in the UK Banking domain, particularly in Mortgage and Savings products, would be advantageous.

Prior experience with the Unisys Financial Services System (UFSS) would be beneficial and is highly desirable.

Proficient in one or more test areas such as Manual, Automation (Selenium/Playwright or equivalent tools) or Performance testing (JMeter) are desirable.

Defect tracking and test case management using software systems like Azure DevOps.

Good understanding of client-server architecture and applications.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills.

BA/BS degree and 5-7 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
