U.S. Soccer Overview
The U.S. Soccer Federation exists in service to soccer. Our aim is to ignite a national passion for the game. Because we believe that soccer is more than a sport; it is a force for good.
We understand the importance and the power of teamwork, on and off the pitch. That is why we work closely with our Federation partners and members, to inspire, support and guide every level of the game: from the grassroots to the National Teams. We want to bring soccer into every home and every community, right across America. Because we believe that soccer can transform lives like no other sport. Soccer can represent the best of U.S.
U.S. Soccer is in a period of significant growth, with ambitious plans for U.S. Soccer in the near and far future. We are, therefore, looking for dynamic servant leaders to join us on this journey: in service to soccer. Applicants must be able to demonstrate visionary leadership, analytical decision-making, professional flexibility, and an empathic management style that builds bold teams and delivers globally significant results.
Position Description
Reporting to the Director, Annual Fund, the Campaign Sr Coordinator owns the campaign calendar and the production behind it. This is a project management role with fundraising experience, accountable for moving every appeal, stewardship touch, and information moment from brief to drop, on schedule and correctly coded.
The calendar runs the full fiscal year and stays live rather than being rebuilt each quarter. Story intake sits with this seat as well, as a standing pull against programs across the Federation, banked with rights status attached so that a campaign brief begins from cleared evidence.
Primary Responsibilities
The Campaign Calendar
Own the fiscal year campaign calendar covering every appeal, stewardship touch, and information moment, visible to every team that plans against it.
Confirm dates with Fan Experience, Membership, and Stewardship before they are committed.
Campaign Production
- Run production from brief to drop across direct mail, email, and paid digital: creative routing, internal and legal approvals, proofs, data pulls, list and seed delivery, and drop dates.
- Maintain the campaign brief as the single source of truth for audience, offer, ask string, timing, and creative direction, with a defined audience before work begins.
- Run quality control before release, including proofing, link and donation path testing, personalization, and suppression verification, and maintain version control and archival so every campaign has a retrievable record of what dropped, to whom, and when.
- Agency and Vendor Coordination
- Hold the agency production schedule against ours and manage print, lettershop, data, and fulfillment vendors on timelines, postal drop windows, and delivery confirmation, escalating slipped dates before they affect a drop.
- Story Intake and Content Operations
- Build and run a standing story intake against Federation programs, maintaining a library of impact stories with rights, release, and usage status attached to each item.
- Campaign Setup and Coding
- Issue campaign IDs, source codes, and coded URLs against the U.S. Soccer source coding standard for every touch, internal and agency.
- Set up campaigns in Salesforce and the email platform, including audience selections, tracking, and the records the program is reported from.
Cross-functional Partnership
- Partner with Advancement Services on data pulls, segmentation delivery, suppression, and gift processing timelines.
- Coordinate with Marketing & Communications, Fan Experience, Digital, and Product on channel access, calendar position, and brand approvals.
- Support overall goals of the Advancement department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ years of project management or campaign production experience in nonprofit fundraising, direct response marketing, agency account management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-channel campaign production from brief through delivery, across direct mail, email, and digital.
- Experience building and maintaining a production calendar across multiple concurrent campaigns and competing stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of direct mail production, including backward planning from the in-home date, proofing cycles, data and list processes, and postal timelines.
- Experience coordinating agency or vendor deliverables against a schedule, including escalating slipped dates before they affect a drop.
- Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in proofing, quality control, and version control.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to hold peers and partners to a deadline without direct authority over them.
- Comfort documenting process and building a system where none exists.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Desired Qualifications
General knowledge of soccer.
Experience utilizing Salesforce, marketing automation platforms, email marketing systems, or comparable CRM and digital marketing technologies.
Experience with source coding, campaign attribution, or marketing operations.
