Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Real Estate

Financial Accountant

London, United Kingdom Hybrid Full-time
  • Location: London Head Office
  • We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of URW's UK business within a fast-moving, collaborative and ambitious environment.
  • You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury and Company Secretariat teams, as well as external auditors, helping to deliver robust statutory reporting and support wider corporate initiatives across the business.
  • If you enjoy taking ownership, solving complex challenges and making a visible impact behind the scenes of some of Europe's leading retail and lifestyle destinations, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this role matters

Accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance are fundamental to how we operate as a listed international business.

In this role, you'll help ensure the successful delivery of statutory accounts, audits and compliance obligations across multiple UK and Jersey entities. You'll be joining a team that supports strategic decision-making, drives continuous improvement and contributes to important corporate finance initiatives.

Your work will directly support the financial integrity of the business while helping us adapt to new regulatory requirements, improve reporting processes and maintain the highest standards of governance.

What you'll be getting involved in

  • No two days will look exactly the same, but you'll spend your time:
  • Leading the preparation of statutory accounts for UK entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102 requirements.
  • Managing statutory audits from end to end, acting as the primary contact for auditors and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
  • Producing audit packs, reconciliations and supporting documentation to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • Preparing consolidated statutory accounts for subgroup entities as required.
  • Coordinating statutory and tax filing timetables, ensuring all obligations are met within required deadlines.
  • Supporting corporate finance activities, including restructurings, liquidations and REIT-related projects.
  • Providing technical accounting guidance on new standards and reporting requirements.
  • Managing and improving financial reporting systems and processes, including accounts production software and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Supporting treasury administration activities and assisting with banking system access and user management.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and enhance reporting processes.
  • Partnering with colleagues across Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury and Company Secretariat teams to deliver wider business objectives.
  • Contributing to ad hoc projects supporting URW's UK corporate entities.

What we're looking for

We're not looking for someone who ticks every single box. What matters most is that you bring the right experience, attitude and energy to make a real contribution.

You'll enjoy this role if you

  • Have experience in statutory reporting, financial accounting or audit within a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Enjoy working with technical accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership and pride in delivering work to a high standard.
  • Are confident building relationships and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enjoy improving processes and finding more efficient ways of working.
  • Can communicate complex financial information clearly to different audiences.

It would be great if you also bring

A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

Strong knowledge of IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102.

Understanding of Companies Act 2006 requirements and statutory reporting obligations.

Experience preparing statutory accounts using accounts production software (OneSource would be advantageous).

Experience working with external auditors and company secretarial teams.

Exposure to multi-entity structures, consolidations or corporate restructurings.

Knowledge of UK REITs, Limited Partnerships, Jersey entities or similar corporate structures.

Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
