Role overview

Tradeweb is seeking a Technology Risk Officer to drive a Technology Risk function within Operational Risk Management. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to Technology and Product teams to provide independent risk oversight and help challenge across the full technology stack through proactive risk identification, assessment and mitigation and work closely with London and New York counterparts driving a follow-the-sun model.

The Technology Risk function will act as the central point of expertise within Operational Risk for all matters relating to architecture risk, change risk, platform complexity and systems resilience to ensure technology risks are properly identified and managed. This is a hands-on role requiring close collaboration with Cybersecurity, Engineering, Infrastructure, Enterprise Risk, and other control functions to identify and assess technology risks, validate control effectiveness, and drive sustainable remediation.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary Technology Risk point of contact for Asia, coordinating regional risk activities, supporting local stakeholders, and aligning regional practices with the global Technology Risk framework.

Mature the technology risk framework, including risk assessment, control standards, ownership, issue management, KRIs, reporting, and escalation process.

Work directly with Cybersecurity, Engineering, Infrastructure, and other stakeholders to obtain and analyze data, inventories, configurations, access permissions, dependencies, and control evidence. Independently challenge risk assessments and validate conclusions rather than relying on attestations or summary reports.

Ensure timely escalation, reporting, and transparency of material technology risks to senior management.

Integrate technology risk into the broader operational risk framework and collaborate across cyber, vendor and compliance risk domains.

Oversee risk governance for disaster recovery and operational resilience, including recovery objectives, dependency mapping, testing, evidence validation, and remediation of identified gaps.

Oversee physical security risks and controls in partnership with corporate security, facilities, and relevant technology teams.

Support a follow-the-sun Technology Risk operating model, ensuring effective regional handoffs, consistent risk assessments, timely escalation, and continuity of risk oversight across time zones.

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in technology risk, operational risk, engineering, or architecture.
• Strong experience in capital markets, electronic trading or fintech platforms preferred.
• Proven experience scaling a technology risk or similar function.
• Deep understanding of technology environments (e.g. cloud, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, SDLC); demonstrated effectiveness in partnering with technology teams in fast-paced, complex organization.
• Strong knowledge of technology risk frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT) and control design/assessment.
• Experience with risk assessments, control testing, issue management, and regulatory expectations (preferably in financial services).
• Strong communication and execution skills, with a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, translate technical concepts into clear risk insights, and drive cross-functional outcomes.
• Demonstrated people leadership and cross-functional collaboration within region and globally.
