Coherent is a global leader in photonics, developing advanced laser, optical and materials technologies that enable semiconductor manufacturing, AI infrastructure, advanced communications and precision industrial applications worldwide.
Coherent is seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Manager to join the Corporate Integration Office within the Strategy and Legal Affairs function. Reporting to the VP, Integration and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, M&A activities, integration programmes, and cross-functional corporate projects across a global organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to sit at the centre of complex, high-impact business initiatives, partnering with senior leaders and subject matter experts across Finance, Legal, HR, IT, Operations, Compliance, and other key functions. You'll be responsible for bringing structure, visibility, and momentum to projects, ensuring stakeholders remain aligned, risks are managed proactively, and critical milestones are achieved.
If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy influencing without authority, and excel at coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously, we'd love to hear from you.
What Youโll Be Doing
- Lead and coordinate strategic projects, corporate development initiatives, and transaction-related programmes across the business.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements.
- Drive execution across multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.
- Facilitate project governance, steering meetings, and executive updates while ensuring decisions, actions, and owners are clearly documented.
- Partner with Business Unit leaders and stakeholders to establish effective project structures and maintain alignment throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning Finance, Legal, Tax, HR, IT, Operations, Compliance, Communications, Government Affairs, and other specialist functions.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, and transformation programmes from due diligence through Day 1 readiness and post-close execution.
- Monitor and manage project risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and competing priorities, escalating issues when required.
- Produce clear and concise reporting for leadership teams, translating complex project information into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including governance frameworks, action logs, risk registers, dashboards, and status reports.
- Drive continuous improvement across the Corporate Integration Office by introducing best practices, scalable processes, templates, playbooks, and reporting standards.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and digital tools to improve reporting, project visibility, workflow management, and operational efficiency.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of project or programme management experience within Corporate Development, M&A, strategy, transformation, legal, finance, or other complex corporate environments.
- Proven success managing multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities, stakeholders, deadlines, and dependencies.
- Experience working directly with senior leadership and executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, reporting structures, and risk management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive accountability across teams without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present both detailed and high-level information to different audiences.
- Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and keep projects moving forward.
- Experience using project management, collaboration, automation, and AI-enabled tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting M&A transactions, due diligence, integrations, carve-outs, or corporate development activities.
- Background within the semiconductor, manufacturing, or technology sectors.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Exposure to global, matrixed organisations and international stakeholder groups.
